Mike Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 I just got my renewal notice in the mail My seat is a P6 season ticket ... so $342 per seat for season tickets. It qualifies as a "premium" Grey Cup ticket (second highest tier) for $299 IF I commit for 3 years. Seems normal enough. Then I look at the P5 tickets. They're more money than my season tickets ... yet they're the lowest tier for Grey Cup and are $100 cheaper. P4 tickets ($140/seat more than mine for season tickets) are $50 cheaper for some sections of the Grey Cup seating chart. How the hell did they determine this stuff?
Jpan85 Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Looks like they use only 4 categories for the Grey Cup five if you include temp seats. Not sure if that is a league demand.
robynjt Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Grey Cup tickets seem obscene this year. $400 for the P6 seats are ludicrous. Endzone tickets in BC are $150. Do you have a list of the associated tickets/pricing? It looks like they FINALLY came to their senses and dropped the endzone ticket pricing for the regular season. I can't renew mine for three years because I'm not even sure where I'll be living then.. soooo great knowing we'll have to play inflated GC pricing.
robynjt Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 So you're saying endzone tickets are $199 for "committed" STH's and $299 for the general public? So, double the cost of this year's GC?
Jpan85 Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 They also have 10000 more tickets to sell than Winnipeg.
robynjt Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Although, I suppose where P6, kind of lies in the same as the $350... ETA - that's a good point I suppose.
Mike Posted December 3, 2014 Author Report Posted December 3, 2014 I can't find the charts online. I'll post phone pictures of the physical letters in a second.
robynjt Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Comparatively - endzone tickets (presumably) were $179 in Regina. "General admission tickets for Canada’s largest sporting event being held in Saskatchewan will range from $149-$349 for season ticket holders and from $179 to $399 for non-season ticket holders"
Jpan85 Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 I can't find the charts online. I'll post phone pictures of the physical letters in a second. if you got a email about renewing its in there.
Mike Posted December 3, 2014 Author Report Posted December 3, 2014 Now compare the two. And be amazed by how little sense they make.
Noeller Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 I'll pay the $175 for temp seating...just to be in the building. Will be a hell of a time...
robynjt Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 That temp seating will be snatched up in no time.
AtlanticRiderFan Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 $250 for the P7 season seats??? That's CHEAP. And you still have a great view from up there. If I was in Winnipeg, I would very likely get seasons for that price.
JuranBoldenRules Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 I have a hard time justifying $300 for my Grey Cup seat. Only way would be if the Bombers were in it, but can't plan that in advance.
Rich Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 I have a hard time justifying $300 for my Grey Cup seat. Only way would be if the Bombers were in it, but can't plan that in advance. The group that I have season tickets with went through this argument as well. We ended up buying because it would be horrible if the Bombes were in the game and we didn't have our seats. If the Bombers don't make it and we decide to not to go and try to sell, we'll split whatever seats we can sell as we are a group of 3. Hate to say this, but if the Bombers aren't in the Grey Cup next year, best case scenario is that SK get in to up demand for tickets.
Atomic Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 I'm quite curious to see how the temp seating is going to be set up. I've been wondering since they finished the stadium. I get the general idea but I'm wondering how they are going to pull it off. Anyways, I'll pay whatever. Only so many Grey Cups in Winnipeg. Noeller 1
Noeller Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Anyways, I'll pay whatever. Only so many Grey Cups in Winnipeg. This....a whole lotta this. There's just no reasonable way to justify not being there...
blitzmore Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 I usually look at it this way....when I'm on my death bed...I don't think i'll be saying "I sure wish I didn't get those tickets the year the bombers hosted the Grey Cup"
Captain Blue Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Those are some hefty prices. I went to the last one here and loved it but not sure about going again.
Onyenegecha Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 If anything, the Grey Cup pricing structure seems to make more sense than the season ticket one. Upper deck on the 20 is a better seat than either end zone. Definitely doesn't make sense when lined up beside each other, but I think that says more about the poor pricing structure currently in place.
