Mr. Perfect Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Would be huge if true. Thought for sure he'd be wanting to go at the NFL this off-season. Kirk Penton @PentonKirk 3m3 minutes ago Sounds like the #Bombers and safety Moe Leggett are nearing a contract extension. Tracker and SPuDS 2
Mike Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Never would have imagined they could lock him up. SPuDS and Mr. Perfect 2
sweep the leg Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 I'm suprised by this too. I thought he'd be pretty eager to get back to the NFL.
Brandon Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 If he re signs... Then I suggest for whoever was looking for a jersey to get his name and number over Z Anderson Noeller 1
B-F-F-C Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 That damn walters. He should be giving press conferences instead of negotiating contract extensions. Sorry...I had to say it. blitzmore, rebusrankin, Noeller and 3 others 6
Jpan85 Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Huge move. I think he knows he can be a star up here instead of fighting for a roster spot. Plus once again once these guys get up here they fall in love with the city and the fan base.
Tracker Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Another step forward towwards respectability. Good on Walters- this ought to buy him another couple of weeks stay of execution.
Noeller Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Curious what the emergence of Moe Leggett means for Graig Newman next year.....?
Mr. Perfect Posted December 5, 2014 Author Report Posted December 5, 2014 Curious what the emergence of Moe Leggett means for Graig Newman next year.....? I'd imagine he'd still have a role. Solid on special teams, and heaven forbid Leggett were to get hurt, I'm sure he could step in. Passport certainly doesn't hurt. Noeller 1
rebusrankin Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Good news. I think Newman may play the same spot as Sherman. Noeller 1
Tehedra Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Great news I hope it comes to fruition;
17to85 Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Good news. I think Newman may play the same spot as Sherman. but is Newman better in that role than Sears?
rebusrankin Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Good news. I think Newman may play the same spot as Sherman. but is Newman better in that role than Sears? No idea. Will Sears be back? Mr. Perfect 1
mbrg Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Good news. I think Newman may play the same spot as Sherman. but is Newman better in that role than Sears? I wouldn't look at is as Newman starts there or Sears starts there, more likely Newman rotates in for 3-4 beside Sears on second down while Thomas rotates out. Something along those lines. Sign as many talented NIs as we can and start the 7 best ones.
JuranBoldenRules Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Curious what the emergence of Moe Leggett means for Graig Newman next year.....? Hopefully fewer snaps for Teague Sherman.
johnzo Posted December 6, 2014 Report Posted December 6, 2014 I don't think that Leggett is a good enough tackler to get back to the NFL. He whiffed on a number of them last year, turning medium gains into long gains and long gains into TDs. Happy to have him back, though; he's a playmaker with fantastic range. After so many years of watching Logan and Cauchy, it was nice to see a safety out there with some serious wheels.
Mr Dee Posted December 6, 2014 Report Posted December 6, 2014 Big League Teague got just the right amount of experience to fill a roll for us in the future…as a backup. But sometimes, when you have play an NI somewhere to fill a need, it's good to know one can step up. Sherman did that. Hopefully, in the near future, we'll have 7-8 solid starters and guys like Sherman won't have to start, but can be excellent rotational players. Still..a valuable asset.
Noeller Posted December 6, 2014 Report Posted December 6, 2014 Ya for all the shitting on BLT people like to do, he had quite a few forced fumbles this year. For a rookie outta CIS, he was better than okay... SPuDS, MOBomberFan, blitzmore and 1 other 4
SPuDS Posted December 6, 2014 Report Posted December 6, 2014 If we can lock up moe, that would be huge.. Could be the glasses but I think he could push to be best or #2 safety in the league.. Also, Teague played unreal and blew away many many expectations... To suggest he disappointed would be ridiculous.. He will be an exceptional backup LB who might still become a legit starter down the road..
Mr. Perfect Posted December 6, 2014 Author Report Posted December 6, 2014 Teague had his highs and lows. He was good at rushing the passer for the most part when asked to, but at the same time he was easily our biggest liability in pass coverage. Unless he improves significantly in that area I wouldn't want him to be any more than a back-up.
GCn20 Posted December 6, 2014 Report Posted December 6, 2014 I would not object to Newman at safety, Leggett at Sam, and Sears at HB replacing Johnson..
James Posted December 6, 2014 Report Posted December 6, 2014 I think Leggett would be a dominant HB... I want Sears at SAM forever Might need him to replace Washington if we can't get a deal done(which I really hope we can) But Newman at Safety would be good... and I'm sure Sherman could be good there too for depth.
