Dirty30 Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 @Wpg_BlueBombers: Blue Bombers relieve Offensive Coordinator Gary Crowton of his duties; Marcel Bellefeuille to assume... http://t.co/xzdyFpraAr
yogi Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 He should have been fired alongside LaPolice
Rich Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Not a surprise, and I'm not sad to see him go. But at the same time, we can't go a week without firing anyone!
bluto Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 good move that. sometimes i think that the best part of moving to this new site (for some people) is that some of us can't go back to old bookmarked threads...
Captain Blue Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Not sad to see him go, though I don't think he deserved all the hate he got. OC is always an easy position to criticize. Interested to see what Bellefuille can do at the OC spot (who didn't see this move coming, honestly?). We have gone from one of the least experienced OCs to the most in one move. Time will tell if Bellefuille can do anything to save this offense. First decision for him will be to figure out who starts at QB. Have to think he goes back to Buck (/vomits). Burke and Creehan better figure out that defense quick.
WildPath Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Wow, now this move is out of left field. What is Burke/Miller thinking? Clearly Crowton was just about to break out of his sophomore slump
Noeller Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Fwiw - Irving thinks Max Hall gets another shot, Jim Bender says they'll go back to Buck. I'm not 100% convinced Crow was the issue, but whatever. If yournna clean house, then clean house. Crowton's an easy one because he's not owed any outstanding money.
the watcher Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 3 down how many to go? I think the new plan is , as many as it takes.
DR. CFL Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Another of Mack's bungles.....people can say what they want but Crowton was Mack's find....he then sold him to LaPo and he was dumb I enough to buy it....be it a sales job or pressure...same result.
Captain Blue Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Fwiw - Irving thinks Max Hall gets another shot, Jim Bender says they'll go back to Buck. I'm not 100% convinced Crow was the issue, but whatever. If yournna clean house, then clean house. Crowton's an easy one because he's not owed any outstanding money. Which means they'll have Buck back in just in time for Labour Day... and a fifty point loss... Blue-urns 1
iso_55 Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 The move had to be made. With Crowton gone, it frees Bellefeuile to pick his qb. We'll see if it is Buck, Hall or Goltz.
iso_55 Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Burke up next. We can only hope... Any head coach that doesn't take responsibility for player moves especially at qb as well as one side of the football because he says he's not qualified shouldn't be in charge.
BlueBall Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Good move that should've happened the moment Bellefeuille arrived to "help out" with the offense. Sadly, I predict the Bombers aren't done with the firings yet and the next one up will be Burke. Little hope for the upcoming Hamilton game and then it's the LDC and we know how well that always goes. Then of course the biggest game of the year, Banjo Bowl. The way things are going, we're all but guaranteed three consecutive losses, and with that comes the end of the season for us. Burke will be gone for sure by then, if not sooner. Wouldn't be surprised if Walters and Miller are already making arrangements for an interim HC to get us through the end of the season.
The Unknown Poster Posted August 18, 2013 Author Report Posted August 18, 2013 That's nonsense. How dare Burke tell the truth. He clearly didn't agree with the decision to start Hall but have Crowton the opportunity to pick his poison. And he was right.
TBURGESS Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Mr. Crowton, please take the window seat to the left. Mr. Burke you're on deck.
iso_55 Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 All I know is this, the contract for Bellefeuille & Walters better not be long term. As in past this season. No more long term until these guys prove they have earned it. If a new GM is hired he can't be saddled with long term contracts.
Zontar Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Should have canned him with Mack. Hanging onto him another week was silly. Atomic 1
iso_55 Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Crowton Fired. Players Yawn. Details at 11.
the watcher Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 I think if we pull out a win or 2 in the next 4 games Burke keeps his job till the end of the season. If we continue to tank they keep pulling the trigger.
Bomber_fanaddict Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 3 down how many to go? I figure we go two and out
