FrostyWinnipeg Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 Maurice said he injured in last game's fight.
The Unknown Poster Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 @SportsCentre: Jets announce Mark Stuart out until February with lower body injury. Have to trade now.
The Unknown Poster Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 @DarrinBauming: Mark Stuart is out until February with a lower-body injury suffered in the "altercation" late in Tuesday's game, says Paul Maurice. #NHLJets Top four D out. God forbid Buff goes down. When's the trade freeze? Gonna be hard to procure a 3-4 D man for a bottom six player now.
Goalie Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 Don't see a trade happening, roster freeze is tomorrow, so Jets are gonna have to go with what they got right now. Little xmas break coming up, not much of one but still... all star break soon after, has to be, Jets might get lucky and have enstrom back in a couple weeks. Until then tho, It is what it is, totally sucks but.... what can you do. Either go with what you got or call a guy up from St Johns. Don't see trades happening, teams don't want to help out other teams.
The Unknown Poster Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 This is the season right here. The next 4 weeks. How the team weathers this adversity will be telling. They have no greater excuse to lose then they do now and no greater excuse to pull together as a team and fight through it.
Jpan85 Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 Might be the biggest loss you can put anyone with him makes that player better.
The Unknown Poster Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 Lawless made a good point - there are some free agent Dmen available...
Goalie Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 I'd honestly rather they go with the young guys and see what they got. Chirot has looked solid, without toby and bogo getting hurt, chiarot wouldn't have had a look. Bring up Kichton or one of the guys from St Johns, see what happens. If it doesn't work out, then you can look at the trade route but the team seems to be doing alright as is, is stuart a big loss? sure but he's not as big of a loss as toby trouba and bogo were and the team was doing just fine without them.
mbrg Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 Lawless made a good point - there are some free agent Dmen available... I wondered after losing Trouba - what's Wade Redden up to these days? It is true, not every player ended up with a dance partner during the offseason.
Rich Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 Checked the waiver wires over the last couple of days. Only D-man that would be eligible to be picked up I think is Shane O'Brien from Florida (was placed on waivers yesterday) Can't say I'm overly familiar with him but he has over 500 NHL games played in an 8 year career.

Melichori (sp) is a left D. Kichton is a right. Buffalo Sabres blogger trying to push the idea that the Jets need to trade Kane for Tyler Myres. lol
FrostyWinnipeg Posted December 18, 2014 Author Report Posted December 18, 2014 and so this is Christmas... ...and what do you got? A top 4 defenceman...NOT! Jets not called anyone up yet? Scary!
The Unknown Poster Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 and so this is Christmas... ...and what do you got? A top 4 defenceman...NOT! Jets not called anyone up yet? Scary! If they intend to call someone up I would think it would have to be now. Makes me wonder if Chevy is still trying to work a trade or signing before midnight. Our 6 D today were: Dustin Byfuglien, Ben Chiarot, Grant Clitsome, Paul Postma, Adam Pardy, Julien Brouillette

Chiarot looked very good against Buffalo, he didn't look like a liability at all and playing him really isn't much of any drop off compared to Stuart.
blitzmore Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 Chiarot has looked good in every game he has played so far, not just against Buffalo. Brandon Blue&Gold 1

He's injured. 680 CJOB Sports @CJOBSports #NHLJets GM Cheveldayoff tells @680CJOB Sports along with his team, @IceCapsAHL Ellerby & O'Neill out & Kichton today went down long term
FrostyWinnipeg Posted December 19, 2014 Author Report Posted December 19, 2014 Teams are so secretive about injuries that the fans have no clue when they are coming back other then the month they say. I typed this with a lower hand injury. I'm not saying what it is Feels like the hope is gone though does it not?

I typed this with a lower hand injury. I'm not saying what it is Feels like the hope is gone though does it not? Not at all.Between our 7 healthy defencemen we have 1483 NHL games played. It's not like we are rolling a bunch of rookies back there.
The Unknown Poster Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 Feels exciting. The trade was good. Will be fun to see the team rally together.
