gbill2004 Posted December 26, 2014 Report Posted December 26, 2014 @ArashMadani: Per #CFL sources: Don't expect Brandon Stewart, who was exposed badly in the Grey Cup, to be returning to the #Ticats in 2015.
Mike Posted December 26, 2014 Report Posted December 26, 2014 I think you should just automatically lose your job when you get called out prior to a game and then still give up 3 touchdowns to the guy who called you out. Blueandgold and Jpan85 2
Floyd Posted December 26, 2014 Report Posted December 26, 2014 Bstew used to be a god on this forum...

iso_55 Posted December 26, 2014 Report Posted December 26, 2014 He had a bad game. Too bad it happened on the CFL's biggest stage.
Jpan85 Posted December 26, 2014 Report Posted December 26, 2014 He had a bad game. Too bad it happened on the CFL's biggest stage. Two epically bad games back to back.
iso_55 Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 Never watched the Eastern Final... Not good.
Zontar Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 Exceeded expectations the majority of the season - but import DBs are ten a penny.
SPuDS Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 Stewart is simply not a very good DB. hes serviceable at best and didnt excel while here. shitty how media found out before he did (apparently as per peoples comments on his facebook) but him getting released doesnt surprise me in the least..
gbill2004 Posted December 27, 2014 Author Report Posted December 27, 2014 I wonder if this will be the end of the line for Mr Stewart? He can come work for EJ Kuale's personal trainer business.
iso_55 Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 Exceeded expectations the majority of the season - but import DBs are ten a penny. Always somebody better, faster & cheaper.
Mark H. Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 IMO dominant import DBs are not that easy to find. The CFL would be full of Chris Randalls if they were

He was strong *within his role* while he was here. SPuDS 1
Floyd Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 He was a great corner while here - seemed to be injured last year, not the same guy...
johnzo Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 He was the field corner, though. I don't think there was ever a time here where he wasn't the least of our starting import DBs. When I heard he was playing HB in Hamilton, I was happy for him, I thought maybe he'd taken his game up a notch but yeah he got exposed when the chips were down. Helluva athlete, though. He had fantastic wheels and I remember him making a lot of tackles from behind on special teams.
Goalie Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 Hamilton in some cap trouble too i thought, getting rid of a veteran like stewart and replacing him with a rookie more than likely saves the cats some cash. Best of luck to BStew tho, always thought he was a pretty good player when he was here.
sweep the leg Posted December 27, 2014 Report Posted December 27, 2014 He was a great corner while here - seemed to be injured last year, not the same guy... Great is a pretty strong word. I'll give him a "pretty good" rating while he was here. He was tried in a few spots here and was only able to maintain a starting role as the field corner. I'm not sure why Hamilton thought he'd be able to play a different role there. He's a freakishly good athlete, but for some reason he can't cover anybody who has a running start.

He was strong *within his role* while he was here. Sadly, his role was "play easiest position in secondary, dont screw up.." And yea he did that and special teams very well..
Captain Blue Posted December 28, 2014 Report Posted December 28, 2014 Stewart was really good here. Always liked him a lot.
comedygeek Posted December 28, 2014 Report Posted December 28, 2014 http://scratchingpost.thespec.com/2014/12/stewarts-departure-not-neccessarily-a-lock.htmlSo who really knows? He did suck in the Grey Cup, though. That's indisputable. TBURGESS 1
17to85 Posted December 28, 2014 Report Posted December 28, 2014 Stewart took forever by import standards to be good enough to start here in the easiest position in the secondary and then was carried by the strength of the rest of the group, then went to Hamilton and played a harder position and got exposed badly in the playoffs. He was never as good as some people thought he was here.
Zontar Posted December 28, 2014 Report Posted December 28, 2014 Tiger-Cats beat reporter isnt as convinced Stewart is leaving as the human car alarm (Madani) is. Al Bundy and kelownabomberfan 2
DR. CFL Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Brandon Stewart came out of a JC in the US to have an 8 year career in the CFL, far exceeding the average length of a CFL career so he must have been pretty bad. Give me a break? Why do people find it necessary to continually trash players? iso_55 1
