James Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Picard is not worth whatever signing bonus it would take to sign him
Fraser Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Yeah of course you put in an offer for Dominic Picard. He would start at centre for us.5 years ago, maybe... five years ago litterally? or was it more like 7 or 8?
pigseye Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Pass, centre is the least of our oline problems.
rebusrankin Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Is Picard any better at this point than Morley or Gossen?
BlueBumbler Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Starting to think Riders may be outside looking in come playoff time. Juggling payroll big time.
Brandon Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 I don't get this thread... Picard is washed up and done and couldn't make our crap o-line.... yet by the Riders shedding him it will cripple their team and make them losers not making the play offs? The logic doesn't make sense..... Floyd 1
Stickem Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Riders are downloading as they have a whole lot of fa's hanging out there that they want to re-up. Picard is a casualty with more to come I would imagine. Dressler is going to cost them and TBrack, never mind Heenan. Good luck Riders. Taman better get the lead out and no we don't need Picard.
iso_55 Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 I know pro football is a business but hard to feel sorry for Picard after he left us. He cashed in & now he'll be cashed out as a player. I think he'll be picked up.

Floyd Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 I thought kelly let him walk during the 09 rebuild

The Bombers, Argos or Riders so it's easier to say adios to a player like that. Having said that, he went where the money was & who can blame him? No doubt if he was still a starter he'd go where the money is again.
Mark H. Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Well, we did get one more good year out of Andrew Greene in '07. IMO the Bombers should make an offer

It wasn't as if Picard was a homeboy from Winnipeg who dissed the city and province and then bailed. It was about money and although Picard has had a long career in the CFL, most don't and have to live with a lot of creaks and groans for the rest of their lives. Al Bundy 1

Mr Dee Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 I wasn't impressed with his slow snaps and his being bull-rushed back into the QB. Why waste our precious teaching time with him now, for what amounts to a temp. hire?
iso_55 Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 I wasn't impressed with his slow snaps and his being bull-rushed back into the QB. Why waste our precious teaching time with him now, for what amounts to a temp. hire? Our line needs all the help it can get. If he can still play & even just help us for one season then maybe in that time we can find an upgrade. I'm not against signing Picard. I know this, when Durant was injured, that entire Rider offense lost a significant percentage of its entire IQ. Coaches & players weren't as smart as before. Things that worked before stopped working. Durant was their team MVP. They were lost offensively without him.
James Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 Picard is not an upgrade though... Morely is a much better blocker and his snaps are just as good. Plus we already have our future center, who is also a better blocker. Picard has no value for this team, unless they want Morely to be able slide out to Gaurd as an injury replacement. But I don't think Picards salary, or ego, would allow him to be a 6th lineman
M.O.A.B. Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 my guess, PIcard will go to Ottawa for the $$$ Floyd 1

Floyd Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 Agree that Picard ends up in Ottawa, would be a good move for them

If there was an injury, Morely would have to slide out and Picard fill in at Center. I just don't think he's worth it. I'd wait till FA and try and get Holmes
Mr Dee Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 Holmes is where my heart is also. blitzmore 1
Mark F Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 Holmes is where my heart is also. Please stop pun-ishing us…
Mark H. Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 Canadian OL depth is razor thin on this team. What happens if Morley gets hurt and Goossen isn't ready to step in as the every day centre? Ditto with the two OG positions. Atomic 1
