gbill2004 Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 @CFL_News: .@sportscage - "I'm willing to bet this that Sheets signs w/ #Bombers. They're deficient at tailback & R looking to make a splash" #CFLI'd take that bet.Ya I can't see it either.
Mike Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 Can't see the need for Sheets here. MAYBE he can carve out a role as a change of pace back. He's got reliable enough hands, but he isn't different enough from Cotton to warrant it here. It's not like he's a Stef Logan type who extended his career by becoming a complimentary back. Jacquie 1
gbill2004 Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 @PentonKirk: The #Alouettes have scooped up running back-returner Stefan Logan. #CFL

gbill2004 Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 He's a 30 year old RB coming off a major injury, especially serious for RBs. No thanks. northof60 and Noeller 2

If Sheets comes here he will be the primary back, he's proven. Not anymore he's not. And that's what the concern is. He's a 30 year running back who played VERY well in his last stint in pro ball. But he's coming off a torn Achilles (which does heal strong) and he hasn't played ball in a year after being in NFL shape instead of CFL shape. If that's proven, I don't know what unproven is.
Goalie Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 I don't see us going after sheets. Riders might but doubt highly that we do. Would i complain if we did? Not really cuz the more competition the better but i just don't see it happening.
TBURGESS Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 I'd take Sheets in a second. He's a difference maker in the CFL. M.O.A.B. 1
Noeller Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 I'd take Sheets in a second. He was a difference maker in the CFL. FYP. SPuDS 1
Atomic Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 I would love to see Sheets here. Maybe he has lost a step but maybe he could also be dominant. He's shown what he can do, he is worth the risk, IMO.
Dirty30 Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 He only gets paid if he makes the team. Worth the risk IMO. I think Curran would be a bigger "splash" personally. northof60 1
Brandon Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 Rbs are dime a dozen, spend the money elsewhere Goalie 1
wookie Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 he was hurt in late aug or early sept, , i am guessing it takes 12 months to come back , so he would be able to play the last 9-10 games in the cfl,
SPuDS Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 I find it funny how a "name" made in seasons (sometimes many seasons) past can still trigger the we gotta sign him crowd. While I agree, the gamble is low.. He won't come cheap and he is damaged goods. I don't see us as needing to gamble like that as our running game isn't a focal point of the offence. If we were realllllly wanting to go run heavy then I'd bring him in and cut him if it didn't work out but realistically, we need a decent RB who can block and catch.. We don't need an all-star who will command big bucks and lotsa touches..
bearpants Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 I think Sheets will be looking for starter money and starter playing time.... once he realizes no team will be paying that... his demands will likely go down...
17to85 Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 The best way to improve the running game is to improve the offensive line rather than paying an older injured runningback. Good news is that Kyle Walters seems to agree with that sentiment. Brandon Blue&Gold, Tracker, Bigblue204 and 1 other 4

gbill2004 Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 @PentonKirk: Shomari Williams being courted by #Argos, #Eskimos, #Stampeders and #Riders, who want him at a lower cost. #CFL
gbill2004 Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 @PentonKirk: @garrettbillan1 Talked to Curran last week. He's prepared to wait for an NFL chance. Grant has a couple offers, but obviously wants more. @PentonKirk: @garrettbillan1 It sounds like Grant will be staying in the East Division. That's the impression I got.
gbill2004 Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 @sportscage: Corey Chamblin tells the SportsCage there were "character issues" with Kory Sheets around his departure from SK

Jacquie Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 @sportscage: Corey Chamblin tells the SportsCage there were "character issues" with Kory Sheets around his departure from SKProbably anal aperture issues. Anal what??? aperture - hole Personally I think Chamblin is just being Chamblin. If he has a problem with a player's "character issues" then why is Taj Smith still on their roster. Mr Dee 1
