FrostyWinnipeg Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 Jets post-Kane/Bogo era hopes to get it's first win. When did Detroit get this good? Hutch to start.
Floyd Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Tyler Myers some flashes... Of Hal gill Sabres top minute guy trying to keep up with Enstrom - nice rush though, once he hits his stride we have the D for a cup run Stafford is a great pickup
The Unknown Poster Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Was worried about chemistry here. But the new guys are beginning to figure it out. Must seem like a game in fast forward with intensity they arnt used to.
Floyd Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Anyone else notice that nick kyprros is slowly replacing strombo
FrostyWinnipeg Posted February 15, 2015 Author Report Posted February 15, 2015 No hate me but I not like Myers so far. Great effort by team in 3rd. Completing hits, rushing every play. Ladd, Wheeler, Lowry... Amazing stat about Clutch in shootout.
Goalie Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Myers been solid. Enstrom not so much with the give aways. Hutch was clutch and stafford got the winner. New guys looking good. Played in a beer league and when new guys joined the boys had chemistry issues. Don't think it be easy to do going 100 percent out there like myers and stafford.
Mr. Perfect Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Wheeler was flying out there tonight. Seemed to have an extra gear tonight. Thrilling third period and overtime.
Mark H. Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Good win - huge pressure by the Jets in OT. So many games that last year's team would not have won
Mark F Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Enstrom not so much with the give aways. I know nothing, but…. the post game show the other day on the radio, a similar statement was made, by a caller, then the host looked up and quoted the team stats, and Enstrom as I recall the host said, has one half (approx) the giveaways of some of the other defence men. He said it's often said, but is not true. just thought I'd mention this
The Unknown Poster Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Babcock was asked about the jets d and put over buff, Myers and trouba then said Enstrom had more Hockey sense then all of them People get down on enstrom. But he's a very very good d man. We are lucky to have him. Especially down that weaker left side blitzmore, Ducky and Mark F 3
Atomic Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 I was surprised at Myers' top end speed that he showed on the Wheeler goal. Didn't realize he had that in him.
Rich Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Myers is a way better skater then I ever expected for someone with his size. Very smooth. New_Earth_Mud 1
Jaxon Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Our 2 newbies played very well. It takes some time to adjust to new line mates and new systems. I thought both worked hard and shoed well in their second game with us.
Jacquie Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Buff is having some fun lately. First Buff was "video-bombing" the Preds broadcasters, now he's doing it to Hutch in a post-game interview (starts at 25 second mark): http://video.jets.nhl.com/videocenter/console?id=752480&catid=96
Goalie Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Don't get me wrong, I like Enstrom and his hockey sense is pretty high it seems but... he does turn the puck over, maybe not as much as the other guys but when he does it leads to grade A scoring chances, last nights backhand pass up the middle in his own zone right on the tape of the red wing player who missed the net. He's a good d man but.. he makes mistakes and doesn't shoot the puck enough also. Guess we are lucky to have him tho. He just leaves lots to be desired most games. Shoot the puck man, when he does it's a good thing, but rarely does he shoot it... does the same thing, fakes it and then circles the net and then passes it off... It's all good but... i'd like to see Toby shoot the puck more when he has the chance.
IC Khari Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Hutch is incredible in the Shoot Outs ... makes me wonder what our record would be (10 SO losses so far) if he'd played in some of those game
Ducky Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Enstrom is key to our defence and despite any single pass you can p oint out is arguably the best passer on the team Trouba is very good and clears the zone too. Trouba makes the fewest mistakes of our D. Enstrom gets major minutes from Maurice for a reason. I have to admit though, do not like him paired with Buff. Besides, when he is paired with Myers, it is so easy to tell them apart! Great comeback last night and I just wish I had the chance to watch more games. Clutchinson played a pretty good game and I think he outplayed Howard. The Jets have the best D in the league right now even if Ben and Stuart didn't see much ice time last night. I wonder if Trouba signs a bridge contract or goes straight for the big contract. If I'm Chevy I sign him as long as I can, throw 7-7.5 at Buff and Ladd has to get at least 6? I heard Chevy say that we'll probably see Armia before the season is over. blitzmore 1
Ducky Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Chiarot is an RFA this off season and I would lock him up too. I woldn't re-sign Halischuk or Peluso or Galiardi or Slater although if I am Chevy, Slater is offered a job in the organization somewhere.
The Unknown Poster Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Should be able to get Chiarot for a good deal. I'd also try to get trouba into an 8 year deal but he might want a shorter one to maximize his return down the road. We could also sign him to a deal that takes him just before UFA with the intent to then sign him to an 8 year deal. End result is trouba here longer. Ducky 1
Ducky Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Ya, the longer he is with the club the better. makes very few mistakes for a young D. Babcock sure had high praise for our D especially Enstrom. Chiarot for 3 years at 1.8, 2.0 and 2.2? That too much?
Goalie Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Chiarot not so good without buff. At best he's a 5 or 6 d man.
Ducky Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 He's only 23, give him a 3 year contract and he should be coming into his prime when it is coming up for renegotiaion. Can't have all of them making 5+. Someone has to get less minutes and salary. I really liked the way that pairing (him and Buff) played together. He ate up a lot of minutes when the injury bug attacked our D. Blue-urns 1
The Unknown Poster Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Chiarot not so good without buff. At best he's a 5 or 6 d man. For a kid playing on the Rock who would never have got a look if not for all the injuries and now he's firmly entrenched in the starting line up I'll take 5-6. Blue-urns and blitzmore 2
Atomic Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Chiarot could be playing on the left side for us for a long time. blitzmore 1
