FrostyWinnipeg Posted March 1, 2015 Report Posted March 1, 2015 Name the guys who you would not trade. Pretty sure? Would you trade them for lets say if Buffalo offers their #1 pick. Though this year 1st/2nd overall are damn close. Finally, who would you trade that would surprise us To start it off: Ladd, Little, Wheeler, Trouba, Hutch If offered #1 pick? Still not trading Wheeler, Trouba. My surprise trade? Toby.
Blueandgold Posted March 1, 2015 Report Posted March 1, 2015 Trouba is the only untouchable for me, although you'd have to give me quite the haul for me to give up Scheifele.
Jpan85 Posted March 1, 2015 Report Posted March 1, 2015 If it's for the number one pick you trade anyone.
The Unknown Poster Posted March 1, 2015 Report Posted March 1, 2015 Trouba. Scheif. Buff is pretty close. There are guys that would mean a step down in the short term but the return is worth it.
New_Earth_Mud Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 I aint trading Trouba, Scheif, Hutch, Lowery... forsure Goalie 1
Blueandgold Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 If it's for the number one pick you trade anyone. Realistically McDavid isn't being traded for anyone - he'll probably have the highest trade value in the league immediately.
Mr Dee Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 You might as well nickname Trouba "Mani"...because, like the Province, he ain't going anywhere. Blue-urns 1
HardCoreBlue Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 No one is untradeable. If we were the Leafs, Sabres, Coyotes sure. But we're not. Technically true but there are some players that would be very hard to part with, i.e., what we are trying to build here. Management has a blueprint that would make it very difficult to let go of certain pieces. If you trade away your core, your saying your blueprint isn't working. I don't believe the Jets are in that position. My core would be Little, Ladd, Buff, Trouba, Wheeler, Scheifele, Lowry, Hutch ands probably Meyers. We also have four to five core development players coming up that would be very difficult to part with. On the bubble of my core would be Stafford and Perrault. Sorry no Frolik. The rest of the existing roster, development players and upcoming draft picks can be used if need be.
Mike Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 Nobody is untradeable, but the three toughest guys to part with for me would be Trouba, Ehlers and Byfuglien. For the first overall pick in this year's draft? I'd trade anyone.
Goalie Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 Buff might be traded this off season if he wants too much term or money in a new deal. Hope they can sign him but if not he'd probably get us quite a few pieces
Jimmy Pop Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 They'll move the team to PHO again before they'd ever think of moving Buff.
Goalie Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 Buff will be traded if he doesn't agree to a contract extension. That's just reality. Can't lose him for nothing. Ideally he signs but If not you have to trade him.
The Unknown Poster Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 If buff says I will not sign here no matter what then yes he will be traded. But he won't say that. And thus he will not be traded.
Jaxon Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 Would not trade: Buff, Hutch, Trouba, Ladd, Wheeler, Lilttle To get Buffalo's #1 pick: Anyone else (ain't gonna happen though. Buffalo isn't parting with it for anyone.)
Goalie Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 I LIKE him but Hutch hasn't shown he is legit yet. Looks like he is but Hellebyuck in St Johns is shattering records left right and center Good teams build from the net out so let's say Hutch. Then we go to the D men. Trouba and Myers will both be very good. Forwards. Start with the centers. Little Scheif Lowry even. Go from there really. If you include prospects. Helle Morrissey Ehlers Petan are all untouchable too. I'd trade Ladd and Buff in a second if someone was willing to give up good players in return. These guys are older. You build the team around the young guys really and Wheeler

You build the team around the young guys really and Wheeler I don't understand this logic. If they were periphery players or players with loads of skill but with no or negative lockerroom presence than sure trade them away. But they're not. You trade away Ladd and Buff, you trade away a big part of our identity, a big part of what we are trying to build here. Hard to replace the leadership, the tone, the intangibles these two players bring on and off the ice. Even with the remote chance you could find guys of equal identity and talent, why make a lateral move like that? Age? The age argument doesn't hold on its own either. Sure their older, but we trade for a younger guy and by the time he's at Ladd's and Buff's level (see above), with salary cap, he's more than likely gone anyways. You don't just build around age, you build around your core. Mr Dee and Jaxon 2
The Unknown Poster Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 Thats tough. For McDavid would you trade ladd & Buff. I think no. And simply because the Oilers have shown us that it doesnt always stand to reason that drafting that big time first overall player doesnt automatically equal success. And it would signal a re-building here which we dont need. We have two 'cores', the Ladd/Little/Buff aged core which keeps us competitive now and the Scheif/Trouba/Ehlers aged core which should keep us competitive for the next 10-15 years. We're lucky. The idea is if you have the right combination of both of those cores hitting at the right time, maybe something special happens. Ladd and Buff are not old. They are in the their prime and both should sign contracts that will see them with the Jets til their downside hits, in my opinion, and hopefully we can bring them a cup during that time. They are two guys that could see their jersey's hanging in the rafters of MTSC one day. Jaxon 1
17to85 Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 If offered #1 pick? Still not trading Wheeler, this is why people laugh at Jets fans.
AtlanticRiderFan Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 Name the guys who you would not trade. Toby. So if you were basically offered Connor MacDavid, you wouldn't give up those two? He is a generational player, possibly up to Crosby's level. No offence to the Jets, because they are a great team, but I'd offer any of their players for the #1 pick. If you have an opportunity to draft McDavid, you take it unless it involves someone like Crosby.
Mike Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 In a one for one swap, there isn't a single player that isn't tradeable for Connor McDavid on the Jets roster. That's not opinion. It's just fact. There are maybe (MAYBE!) ten players in the entire league that wouldn't get traded straight up for McDavid. Saying you wouldn't trade Blake Wheeler for Connor McDavid is like saying you wouldn't have traded Miroslav Satan for Sidney Crosby way back when.
Goalie Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 Everyone talks about Ladd and Buff but the jets best most consistent player since being here Is Bryan little. Lits gets no love for some reason.
FrostyWinnipeg Posted March 4, 2015 Author Report Posted March 4, 2015 Everyone talks about Ladd and Buff but the jets best most consistent player since being here Is Bryan little. Lits gets no love for some reason. Hey I love him and he's getting 4m a season so Chevy loves him too.
The Unknown Poster Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 When Jeff Oneil said on tradecentre that Bryan Little needed to step up I nearly fell out of my chair.
