Quite the feat but... He's a 20 year old rookie, Who the hell is barry brust? The guy he took the streak from? Never heard of him. Lots of time these minor league goalies don't do so well in the big leagues, he's a rookie with the pens, he's gonna spend several years in the minors for sure, MAF is signed to a long term deal in Pitt, this guy is gonna spend lots of time in the AHL.

But Hammond will come back to reality soon, Just like Hutch did and just like Dubnyk has kind of done with the wild recently. Hammonds sample size is way too small, He sucked in the AHL tho.

The NHL has a history in the last 5 seasons where a goalie shows up from relative obscurity to wow and impress.. Always seem to last a season, help a team make a run, get figured out and either fade back to obscurity or bounce around for a few years. Dunno if they just have "it" for an extended period of time (deal with the devil? Lol) or a gimmick that people can't figure out right away.. But it's a weird phenomenon..

Had to bring this up.

Well Caps were #1 in the league. Who gets the blame now?

Murray has been good. But at the same time Holtby had a 942 save percentage and a very low goals against average and finished with 6 wins 6 losses

Washington couldn't score. Murray had a bit to do with that but not much. He's a nice story and a good young goalie but Washington and NYR didn't really test him that much. Tbay should be a tougher test.
