IC Khari Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 This will be extremely tough for the Jets to win but I still think they're capable of an upset (even without Little and Buff). We need to stick to the same defensive plan as Saturday and make the most of the chances we get (like Saturday) to win. I'd love two points but even 1 point will be good as it's is getting very close in the West.
FrostyWinnipeg Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 Jets will do okay if they can cover 2 things. 1. Make sure Thomas Steen does not hitch a ride on the plane. 2. Keep Alex Steen off scoreboard. Do those 2 things and we can win. Oh and hit. Hit. HIT! Off to MTCW tonight so will miss the game. Support the arts! Mark F 1

Thomas Steen is a bit old to hit but agh ... well ... why not, since he seems to still like to mix it up with old women in restaurants ... FrostyWinnipeg 1
SPuDS Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 Also... This game is TOMORROW. So thanks for making me waste a minute of my life trying to find it on tv! FrostyWinnipeg 1
FrostyWinnipeg Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 Hutch vs Elliott. Per Wiebe@Sun: Ladd-Lowry-Frolik, Stafford-Scheifele-Wheeler, Tlusty-Slater-Stempniak, Thorburn-O'Dell-Peluso. Come on Peluso! Olli not playing but Goc will. Which is bad for us. He seems to do well against Jets. Jay Bouw. will play after taking a game off for Blues.
Goalie Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 it's gonna be a good game, hard hitting fast paced defensively strong game. I like when the Jets play the Blues actually, it could go either way. I think the Jets manage to get a point for sure. Not sure about 2 tho.
FrostyWinnipeg Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 Nothing....I've got nothing to say. Breaks open a bottle of wine and gets another for next hour.
Brandon Blue&Gold Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 So for next game, do you pretend the final goal didn't happen and put in Pavs who did a damn fine job coming in for Hutch? Or go back with Hutch like nothing happened. I didn't see the actual game just heard it on 1290 so I can't really judge how good or bad Hutchinson was tonight.
The Unknown Poster Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 Pavs goal was career level Embarrassing. But hutch seemed to have let in about nine bad goals that game.
SPuDS Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 Pavs goal... Inexcusable... But trouba was partially screening and looked to either hide puck with elbow or deflect it.. Still, you GOTTA stop that..at that point of the game, at this point of the season.. BLECH.
Brandon Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 I didn't watch the game but based on my Facebook it appears that Pavs killed someone then took a poop on the ice. It must of been a real stinker. Apparently he was looking at the jumbo tron?
sweep the leg Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 Back breaking goals are Pavelec's thing. He's usually good for at least one bad goal per game. Not usually that bad though... blitzmore 1
The Unknown Poster Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 He was staring a hole through Trouba But what is Trouba supposed to do when a guy shoots from the middle of the ice, leap out of the way? Pavs wasnt ready. Period. I saw people on twitter before the game talking about how the Jets could have bought Pavs out last summer but didnt and how that was a poor decision. Last night proved why, no matter how well Hutch *can* play, even in hindsight, its good they didnt ditch Pavs (nor would they have in the summer with no other goalie options). We still arent getting the goaltending we need. If we miss the playoffs by a couple of points its going to come down to that. For Florida, I'd come back with Hutch because I think he needs it. Going with Pavs creates a goalie controversy. If there is to be a controversy, let it be because the goalies cause it not the coaches.

Too bad you don't mention how the Jets were running around in their own end when some of the goals were scored on Hutch. There was really only one that could be considered soft, the rest were great plays by the Blues and poor defence by the Jets. Pav's always goes to sleep at least once a game. MOBomberFan 1
The Unknown Poster Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 The team didn't play great and this isn't about Hutch vs Pavs as most Pavs-haters like to make it. Pavs was the way better goalie except for one play. Hutch wasn't nearly good enough.
IC Khari Posted March 11, 2015 Author Report Posted March 11, 2015 Sorry but the loss in this case is on Pavs. Sure his other saves were great and they definitely kept us in the game, but he is getting paid a lot of money so we should expect that from him should we not? Pavs is responsible for that one because he let a goal in that most 10 year old goalies handle. If he stops that shot we at least get a valued point in a heated playoff race.
The Unknown Poster Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 No excuse for the pavs miss. But if hutch had played average that one goal wouldn't have been the difference. They lost 5-4 not 1-0.
Ducky Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 We´ll know who Maurice blames by who starts next game...
The Unknown Poster Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 @garylawless: Paul Maurice on his starting goalie for tomorrow: "I have my guy in mind. And it wasn't a very difficult decision." hutch #nhljets
The Unknown Poster Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 We´ll know who Maurice blames by who starts next game... Not really. I said earlier I'd start hutch next game. There is a strategy involved that isn't just about last game.
