FrostyWinnipeg Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 The story so far... Blues best team in NHL Must win for Jets(aren't they all at this point?) Keep Steen off the scoreboard and his dad out of the arena Pav to start Everyone but the Kings playing Thursday Somewhere either in the back of my mind or on the board I saw Pav starting games down the stretch. Weird.
Jimmy Pop Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 Certainly not a must win by any stretch - though would help the cause a ton! 96 pts gives us a real solid shot at the postseason... That's 6-4-2 in my books, and you'd think would be attainable...
Goalie Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 I wouldn't call this a MUST WIN, it would be a nice win but not a MUST WIN, must wins are against teams like Vancouver,Minni,Calgary, This would just help lots. Pav starting? Not sure i've seen that confirmed but would make sense, outside of that fluke goal he let in vs St Louis, Pav has been better than Hutch recently. Should have called this thread.. BLUES at JETS: Pavelecs Revenge!!

Jimmy Pop Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 Buff out again tonight. Ladd skipped AM skate, but will play.
Mark F Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 fluke goal away from a tie, so why shouldn't the Jets win? some close shots have started going in for them instead of missing by a millimetre it seems to me.
johnzo Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 Never been sold on Pav as our starter, but I gotta say I love a redemption story, and he's been money since that fluky goal. Go Pav! IC Khari 1
Floyd Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 jets can't go to sleep in the 2nd period in this one
Brandon Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 Unfortunately usually Pavs plays two good then one bad game... Hope this trend doesn't work
IC Khari Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 I think Pavs has played better because he's got some competition on his a** ... most pro athletes with any pride will. Judging from his comments last week about not playing in three weeks (no matter how whinny it sounded), it seems he is a very proud guy and not playing was really bugging him. I don't think he'll let down as easily as it used to be when he had no one to challenge his job, at least I hope so anyway .
The Unknown Poster Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 He also made a comment, I think referring to the first goal of his first start back (cant remember the game off hand but I think it was somewhat of a softie) he later said after that goal if he hadnt stopped the rest he didnt think he'd ever play again. Im happy for Pavs. When Hutch was playing well you had the goofballs online saying gee should have bought out Pavs. Not a chance. Although I have enjoyed watching Darren Ford claim to be the only man alive who stood up for Pavs and no one will give him credit it for...much like no one gives him credit for single handedly bringing back the Jets, bringing back the Moose, building the Iceplex with his bare hands, curing polio etc. :-)

I believe it was yourself who responded it isn't an option due to cap issues.

And clearly, having two goalie options is needed right now. I think he's a potential trade option after next season but since Hutch is still in his entry deal, they might as well keep both. The caveat being, if Hutch becomes the bonafide number one guy next season, Pavs might not be too happy.
Goalie Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 Pav could still be moved this off season and it wouldn't shock me if he was
Floyd Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 Pav could still be moved this off season and it wouldn't shock me if he was If he gets hot in the stretch run, I could see that - right now, Anti Niemmi is the 'best' goalie available... someone will ante up for Pavs.
basslicker Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 If pav can win, more power to him. We need more people to step up. Maybe he knows his time in Winnipeg is coming to a close and it's time to show potential suitors what he's capable of.
New_Earth_Mud Posted March 20, 2015 Report Posted March 20, 2015 Myers is a real good hockey player. Brandon, IC Khari and Atomic 3

And hed have to be Ok with being a back up. And kinda cheap. I dont see The Jets going into next year with Hutch and Hellebuyck. Atomic 1
Jacquie Posted March 20, 2015 Report Posted March 20, 2015 Another great game by the Jets and Pavs was fantastic. And to top it off - Wild lost.
Goalie Posted March 20, 2015 Report Posted March 20, 2015 Pavs Revenge. As for off season. Lots of goalies available. Neuvirth is one I'd have interest in.
