FrostyWinnipeg Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 The story so far... 1. M--- w-- (fill in the blanks) 2. Looking for another Buffless win 3. Pavelec looking for revenge 4. St. Louis expected to start Allen in net T-3 Ground launch sequencer is go for auto sequence start Bonus measure..Achilles Fanatics! My brothers of the hockey stick! I would rather blog with you than sit with the thousands in attendance! Let no one forget how menacing we are. We are Jets! Do you know what's waiting beyond this game? 96 points! Mark F 1
johnzo Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 3a. Pavs kinda got his revenge already, he beat the Blues 2-1 a couple weeks ago, in a shootout no less. 3b. Since his blueline whiff, Pavs has been on a mission, going 8-2 with a 1.88 GAA, a .937 save percentage, and 2 shutouts. Mark F 1
Goalie Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 Again. Not must win but would be nice if they did win tonight and vs Colorado to make that Calgary game almost meaningless
Jpan85 Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 A point would be nice tonight 2 points and I would be over the moon.
Floyd Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 Both Calgary and LA should win tonight... hopefully Chicago beats Minnie One point is pretty important.
voodoochylde Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 Only way we really control our fate is to continue to rack up wins; the team needs to take care of their business and not leave it in the hands of others. Jaxon, New_Earth_Mud, MOBomberFan and 1 other 4
Goalie Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 Hopefully both LA and Calgary think they will win tonight too. If they take those teams lightly they easily could lose
Mr. Perfect Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 Tough to count on either scenario given what's at stake. Losing to either Arizona or Edmonton with your season on thin ice would be as bad as it gets. Highly doubt it happens to the Kings especially, solely for the fact of the Stanley Cup credentials on the roster, nevermind it is the Oilers after all.
IC Khari Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 I think we need to forget about the Kings and Flames as they are set up to win, we need to take care of our own business and put the pressure on the Wild. If we win tonight (giving us 96 points) and the Wild lose in Chicago (they would be stuck at 96) we are tied (Minny has the ROW) with a chance to take the first wildcard spot in Colorado with Minny still having to play on the road against Nashville and St. Louis. Let them worry about Calgary and LA . Who'd a thunk that a few weeks back? Ducky 1
FrostyWinnipeg Posted April 7, 2015 Author Report Posted April 7, 2015 Hopefully both LA and Calgary think they will win tonight too. If they take those teams lightly they easily could lose I can see EDM winning as they are probably out of the TOP 2 draft. Arizona still got chance for CMD
Jimmy Pop Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 Neither the CGY or LA game will be decided by less than 4 goals. These will be laughers... Book it. (I hope I'm snacking in crow tomorrow morning!)
Noeller Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 Edmonton at full health really aren't that bad of a team. They've been dressing a minor league team, essentially, over the last few games. They've got Bachman back starting tonight, which will help because Scrivens is just toast. Dude is done. One of the biggest problems, though, is their defense has been pure ****. Need some bodies back in a big way...

Floyd Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 Edmonton has like six good players... after that, its an AHL team.
Noeller Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 When healthy, it's actually a pretty good team, I swear. They're massively underrated because of what Eakins had 'em doing. The team, post-Eakins under Todd Nelson, has been more than solid. Make no mistake, there's still a long way to go - especially at G and D - but this team is not as bad as the stats would suggest.

17to85 Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 The Oilers suck right now, but that's because they traded Petry when they couldn't afford to lose him then all their other experienced defencemen got hurt. Seriously the most experienced D they are dressing lately is Justin Schultz. When healthy it's a better team than people think, but because Eakins ****** them around for so long people got this idea that they were worse than they actually are. Prior to trading Petry Nelson basically had them playing .500 hockey and with a chance to win most games. That is what should be expected of the Oilers at this point, though they do need to get a replacement for Petry in the offseason rather badly. Forget what Eakins did to that team, he was brutal. Look at how they were under Nelson before their D got decimated and how they were under Kreuger. That's more a reflection of the teams actual abilities. Eakins was THAT bad. He only got a year and a half because MacT loved him and couldn't accept that he made a mistake. Any other team and Eakins would have been fired a month in. Noeller 1
Ducky Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 The Oilers should be waaaaaaaaay better than what they are with all the high draft picks....brutal team. blitzmore 1
Floyd Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 What experienced defencemen? Nikitin's back is effed, Ference is done. Neither of these guys are particularly good Dmen. Oil don't even have the option to let Nurse mature... him and Schultz will be their number one pair next season. Edmonton keeps it close because other teams don't take them seriously. Either need a free agent frenzy or wait another 2-3 years to compete.
Brandon Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 Lol at 17 and Noeller making excuses... Edmonton just plain sucks and Nelson is only looking bright because of his predecessor was absolutely awful. Not a huge standard to do a comparison. The injury excuse is an excuse, all teams go through it. Look at how many games missed that our defense missed. Are you suggesting that Pardy, Harrison , Chairot are all light years ahead in talent then the Edmonton guys? You guys are looking at them via oiler blue shade tinted glasses. ..

Are you suggesting that Pardy, Harrison , Chairot are all light years ahead in talent then the Edmonton guys? You guys are looking at them via oiler blue shade tinted glasses. .. Edmontons D is bad when they're all healthy, but with Petry traded, Fayne, Ference and Nikitin hurt they're all babies. Klefbom and Schultz are the top pairing for gods sake. That's one guy just getting his feet wet in the NHL and another who in an ideal world should be getting big time sheltered minutes as purely a PP guy and low ES minutes guy. They're dressing both Davidson and Musil who both should be no where near the NHL at this point. They might be NHL players some day but right now they're still AHL defenders. Marincin is just getting his NHL feet wet too. It's just too much youth and inexperience. Ference and Nikitin might suck but at least they're veterans who can get through a game most nights. As to your first point, did anyone say that Nelson was a great coach? All anyone has ever said was Eakins was ******* terrible and the results were much better before and after him. That's the point here. Stop pretending the Eakins time is the actuality of how the team should be performing. It's not. Kreuger had them in 8th in the lock out year before they stumbled late, Nelson had them playing .500 hockey before they lost all their experienced D. That's about what the team should look like if healthy. Not great but not an embarassment either. Kind of where the Jets were before this season.
Jacquie Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 That was a dirty play by Oshie. That replay sure looked like he purposely head butted Stuart. And gosh is it ever nice to have a "controversial" call by an official go our way. sweep the leg 1
Rich Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 If these teams happen to meet in the playoffs, there will be no one left standing at the end of it. Always a rough physical game between these two. Mark F 1
