gbill2004 Posted April 10, 2015 Report Posted April 10, 2015 @DarrinBauming: #Bombers add two Internationals: 6'2" 300lb DL Nate Collins and 6'0" 185lb DB David Van Dyke. Collins spent 2012 & 2013 with Chicago Bears.
Atomic Posted April 10, 2015 Report Posted April 10, 2015 Don't think Collins played at all last year but he played in the NFL for several years.. More than just with Chicago at least. He's a big boy, exactly the type of gap filling nose tackle that a lot of people have been clamouring for for awhile.
Goalie Posted April 10, 2015 Report Posted April 10, 2015 Someone can wake up Floyd, they added another d lineman today. Floyd 1
gbill2004 Posted April 10, 2015 Author Report Posted April 10, 2015 WINNIPEG, MB., April 10, 2015 –The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the club has added International defensive lineman Nate Collins and International defensive back David Van Dyke. Collins (6-2, 300, Virginia, December 14, 1987, in White Plains, New York) went undrafted in 2010, but then signed with Jacksonville in 2011, playing in 11 games. He went on to play the 2012 and 2013 seasons with the Chicago Bears, and finished his NFL career with 21 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Collins played collegiate football at Virginia, where he was an All-ACC in 2009. Van Dyke (6-0, 185, Tennessee State, March 6, 1991, in Miami, Florida) signed with Kansas City as an undrafted free agent in May of 2014. He attended Tennessee State where he was a second-team all-Ohio Valley Conference selection. He recorded 52 tackles, and two interceptions in his senior season, taking one back 46-yards for a touchdown.
Noeller Posted April 10, 2015 Report Posted April 10, 2015 6'2" seems a little small for a DT, no? Or am I just spoiled by 6'8" Doug Brown...?
Floyd Posted April 10, 2015 Report Posted April 10, 2015 6'2 300 is fine for a DT... Torn ACL is fine with me if that's the only reason he's not in the NFL.
Tracker Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 Collins is big enough and hefty enough with a low center of gravity to stuff running plays. i look forward to seeing him at TC.
IC Khari Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 Height is nice but the 300 lbs is nicer in that role Noeller 1
Tracker Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 I do wonder if the DB has the proper beard, though.
Fraser Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 Haywood was what 5'10 Haywood lived in my building and was 5'7 at best.
Zontar Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 Haywood was what 5'10 Haywood lived in my building and was 5'7 at best. Completely off topic but whenever Haywwod's name comes up I think of the bomber fan who came to a HAM home game in a Haywood sweater and acted like a complete jack-tool the entire time. Wouldnt have cared but WPG won so...you know...
Brandon Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 Haywood was what 5'10 Haywood lived in my building and was 5'7 at best. He definitely was shorter then what they billed him as, when I met him he definitely was around 5'7 - 5'8 ish. Super wide guy though, he was like a fire hydrant.
basslicker Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 I like what van dyke brings. We need some help back there. Two good signings.
Goalie Posted April 16, 2015 Report Posted April 16, 2015 Bombers apparently added another db today according to darrin bauming, undrafted guy from syracuse, got a tryout with the colts last year.. 6'1 195 lbs Keon Lyn.
