The first 85% of Skyfall was great. The Home Alone ending was embarrassing to the franchise. I just felt sad for whoever wrote that. Spectre was fine... I enjoyed that. I still like Casino Royale the best, and the one after that... with the guy trying to buy land for water purposes.... is the worst.

Thank you. Skyfall was **** from start to end

Thank you for validating what I have always believed…….that you have no idea what you are talking about.

Just kidding. To each their own, but Skyfall is generally recognized as one of the, if not the best, Bond films ever made.

To which I have no idea why... sure the cinematography is nice but as a bond movie it sucks

I'd put Casino Royale over Skyfall ,  but as the Best Bond movies ever ....  Skyfall would not be in my top 5.   It would be around the 10 - 15 mark.     No Time to die and Quantum of Solace would be near the bottom.

As bad as Solace is, relative to other Craig Bond movies..... it is still FAR better than some of the campy stuff they've done in the past.

Curious as to what turned you off? And how you would rank the Bond movies, and what you look for in them.

Well the home alone ending was god awful. I hated the "old man Bond" aspect of it considering they had just rebooted the series as a newer 00. It just didn't do anything special. I think people got sucked in by the pretty pictures and ignore the rest. Without a shred of hyperbole I would if I had to choose a movie to watch between Skyfall and Quantum of Solace I'm taking Quantum any day, and that's not because I love Quantum of Solace

If I had to watch either Solace or Moonraker it's not even remotely close that I'm watching Jaws fall in love.

At least with the campy stuff it is entertaining for laughs and turning the brain off,  with Solace and even the latest Bond I'd rather just watch the Mission Impossible movies since they are significantly better at doing the same thing.

I disagree but it might just be a personal taste thing. The MI movies are okay but there is still a level of class and gravitas that comes with Bond that puts them ahead. Especially the Craig ones.

Also, the latest MI was surprisingly bad. I really wanted to love it but it was like a middle of the road Fast and Furious movie.

Have not seen it yet but MI7's RT score was way high.

I find that those things are based on the previous movie. If they like the previous one, they come into the new one with those presumptions. Just my take. But the new MI is one of the worst in awhile. They directly stole bits from various Fast movies (5-7 specifically)...

I watched Guardians of The Galaxy 4 last night. For me, just a little bit of a letdown but it had it's moments. Who thought Dave Bautista could be such a funny actor when he was the enraged gargantuan in WWE??? They finally explained the origins of Rocky as we wondered how a raccoon could talk. Loved the ending when Groot said, "I love you guys!!" That's it for the franchise.

I watched it in theatre and it was amazing,  everyone came out enjoying it.    Better action,  better side characters,  better gadgets,  and a better story then the last Bond.   The movie hits on every note and is memorable and for good reason why it is well rated and why it pulled in a tonne of money.

The problem I found with the Craig Bond movies is that everything felt so generic and boring and sterile.  The supporting cast are all forgettable or unlikeable,   All charisma is pulled from the Bond character and everything just feels generic and run by the numbers.  The pace is slow and the dark brooding troubled drama storyline over takes the fast paced cool undercover agent what Bond should be about.   You can tell Craig wasn't interested in the character and everything was so tired and boring.   Meanwhile Mission Impossible somehow keeps one upping themselves and somehow keeps things interesting even after all these movies.

Yeah. MI has been a great series minus the Woo film.

As for pulling in a ton of money, it didn’t make much after advertising is factored in. Premiering before Barbieheimer cost it some big money.

By far my favourite of the franchise. For me, the first one is wildly overrated. Never got that one. I enjoy the ones from 4 til now but 2 is absolutely my favourite.

Craig was a better Bond than Roger Moore. Who just slept walked thru his role in probably 5 movies. Everything was  a joke to Moore & he played Bond that way. After the exceptional way Sean Connery played & developed the character it was a big letdown. I'll take Craig's version any day.

Yeah Roger Moore stuff is generally awful and campy. Connery is really the definitive James Bond. I enjoyed the first few Pierce Brosnan ones as well, but the later efforts were bad. Casino royale was a damned good movie and made me a fan of Craig's Bond.

Craig is a good Bond but the material he was given was crappy after Casino Royale.   It definitely wasn't his fault that the later Bond movies were a lot of meh.

Roger Moore was hilarious,  the movies are entertaining and watching those makes me yearn for more Austin Powers movies.    Far more memorable  (not always in a good way) then the later Brosnan and most of the Craig movies.

I like a little bit of seriousness in Bond. After Connery, Moore just didn't cut it for me. He played Bond the same way he played The Saint's main character Simon Templar. Not very seriously I liked Pierce Brosnan in the role better than Moore. He was closer to Connery's version of 007. Over the years, audiences change. Demographics change. A Bond movie used to be a big deal. Lineups to get in to see it. Now, not so much anymore. Not because Daniel Craig's style of acting or storyline affected the character. It's just times are different now. I think after 60 years, james Bond has run it's course.
