As you mention if you have the physique, you should probably be comfortable in your own skin. As an actor/actress, I would see it as opening a lot more doors for future roles. It doesnt discredit your abilities, but if your willing to go all in for a role, alot of people pay to see it, and want to work with it. I would say Sharon stone is a good example. despite being in Total recall, I would say Basic Instinct really set her career on fire for a good long time. people still took her seriously after the fact That's true. But I guess you also want to be popular for your talent and not your body. And there still is a double standard. Male actors who do nudity including full frontal, which is becoming more common, arent talked about the same as female actors who do.

The Unknown Poster Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Ill admit there were only three things that made me watch Swordfish. John Travolta was one. You can guess the other two. Monster's Ball was better if you like Halle Berry...but then you have to put up with Billy Bob Thornton's balls. Edited April 21, 2016 by The Unknown Poster
FrostyWinnipeg Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 Swordfish quite a guilty pleasure. Also interesting Winnipeg connection to that movie. The 360 explosion scene was done here I believe.

You mention her name and the 1st thing that comes to everyone's mind is the interview scene in Basic Instinct. She has done good work since then (Casino most notably) but it's not what she's known for.

They did quite a number of big movies (Superman Returns, X-Men 2 & 3 amongst others) but I believe that part of their company was bought out.
Taynted_Fayth Posted April 21, 2016 Author Report Posted April 21, 2016 i said it set her career on fire for a good while after Basic Instict, she was also in the quick and the dead before casino, she was a hot commodity in the 90's after her 92 Basic instinct, but the 2000's havent been as kind with **** roles like the bad chick in halle berry's catwoman, her bloated crying mother role in alpha dog..ect
The Unknown Poster Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 Sharon Stone is no great actor. But she was great in Basic Instinct. The scene in question is pretty tame by todays standards but I remember it being incredibly controversial at the time, to the point protests were held at screenings with protesters shouting spoilers for the film. But aside from the crotch shot, she was very good and Basic Instinct is a terrific movie.

Taynted_Fayth Posted April 21, 2016 Author Report Posted April 21, 2016 Quote Robert Downey Jr.: Actor Reportedly Joins 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' as Iron Man Character The actor has joined the cast of the reboot film, multiple outlets reported. Sony and Marvel have not confirmed the news. "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is set to release in theaters on July 7, 2017. I thought he said he was done with the character beyond what he was signed on for (civil war and the infinity war 2 parter) . Im guessing Sony wanted him, and with them giving the ok to use Holland in civil war, this must be some kick back.

The director convinced her to go commando duel to lines showing through her white dress and she didn't realized what the camera angle would pick up.

I've heard it before but dont believe it. Why on earth would she spread her legs wide, pause momentarily while the other acts react? She knew. She knew. bigg jay 1

Here are the apparent quotes from her. http://www.express.co.uk/celebrity-news/452458/Sharon-Stone-was-angered-after-seeing-famous-Basic-Instinct-scene-for-the-first-time Quote She says, "When we did it, it was going to be an innuendo and the director said, 'We're seeing the white of your underwear, I need you to take them off.' And I'm like, 'I don't want you to see anything and he's like, 'No, no you're not going to.' So I gave him the underwear, put them in the pocket of his shirt, and he said, 'Now watch on the monitor...' "In those days... it's not like now where everything is high definition, and when I looked at the monitor you really couldn't see anything." "So when I saw it in the theatre, with a bunch of other people, I was like (in shock). When the film ended I went in the booth and I slapped him (Verhoeven) and I said, 'You could have showed me this to me by myself'." Despite her anger, Stone admits she would have kept the scene in the movie if she was the director. She continues, "It's so right for the movie and so right for the character but if I would have gotten that (perfect shot), even by accident, I would have had the courtesy to show it to my actor. But, I would have kept it in the movie. Is she being honest here or mis-remembering ... who knows.

I would suspect her contract spelled out terms of nudity. So I guess maybe she didn't think it was going to be as explicit. But to be honest, it wasn't that bad. The theatre version even cut out most of it if I recall. It was very quick. The director's cut lingers for an extra moment.

Taynted_Fayth Posted April 22, 2016 Author Report Posted April 22, 2016 Quote Following speculation that MTV Movie Awards cohosts Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart were eyeing lead roles in a Jumanjireboot, the professional wrestler and Hollywood star took to Instagram Friday to confirm news that work is well underway on the project. “It’s OFFICIAL: Love this script!” The Rock wrote as he shared a photo of himself holding the film’s script. “[To] have the opportunity to tell their stories in dope new ways to a whole new generation is truly an honor… We’ll produce and deliver to a whole new generation a title that I love and is one of my all time favs: There’s games you play for fun… then there’s games that change your life. JUMANJI.”
Taynted_Fayth Posted April 24, 2016 Author Report Posted April 24, 2016 looks like Green Lantern is coming back (highly unlikely with reynolds) in a 2020 film Green Lantern Corps. apparently supposed to feature 3 heroes (my guess is the martian man hunter as one) to try and reboot some interest in GL - especially with the Justice League on the horizon
