Mike Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 Yeah I can't really hold picking Mulumba against Mack. And either way, the odds are still in our favor that he plays for us eventually. In hindsight, we could have had Edem and likely would have if Walters had his way, but the pick was a gamble either way. Funny year, that draft year.
Jpan85 Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 With the Westerman signing now who ever we draft at 2 Waude Demski or a OL its a depth piece they don't have to come in a start if they do its plus but no hurry to rush them.
mbrg Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 Complaining about the Mulamba pick doesn't make much sense. You want a guarantee that picks won't attract NFL interest - draft a guy who sucks. We drafted a guy who against the odds has been good enough to hang onto a job in the NFL for 2 seasons. My recollection of that draft is at that time, Mulamba was one of the top guys who had less NFL interest than the other top guys. Not zero, but less than most. Toronto seems fine with Tyler Holmes spending a few seasons down south before coming up here and looking real good. I'll be fine with waiting a few years for Mulamba if he can do the same. Better than drafting a guy who sucks with the second overall pick. sweep the leg 1
Mike Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 Exactly, would you rather be Edmonton who drafted Scott Mitchell? We both have nothing right now, but at least we have some hope for the future. Edmonton already knows they blew it. SPuDS 1
Atomic Posted May 7, 2015 Author Report Posted May 7, 2015 Hell we could have drafted Tyler Holmes and waited. Instead we drafted..... Wait for it.... You know what's coming...... Jade Etienne!
Floyd Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Difference is that mulumba and Etienne picks were going against the odds, Mitchell was a safe pick that was a bust
Mike Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Revisionist history, Mulumba wasn't a reach at all.
Floyd Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 not at all, on draft day, tsn talked about him being one step away from nfl... Same risk as a Brett jones pick - all or nothing
Atomic Posted May 8, 2015 Author Report Posted May 8, 2015 Looks like Chris Ackie, Danny Groulx and Ron Omara are heading to Giants camp as well. Scroll down to the full list. http://www.giants.com/news-and-blogs/article-1/Former-Rutgers-QB-Gary-Nova-among-Giants-rookie-mini-camp-tryouts/908db669-cf36-434d-9179-3fa8899694ba
JuranBoldenRules Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 I just got a robo call from the New York Giants. They invited me to mini-camp, but I didn't want to disappoint my mom on Sunday, so I turned them down. Floyd and blitzmore 2

Taynted_Fayth Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 while mini camps are for the most part a cup of coffee stop off, is this many invites common? does it have any impact on keeping players down south longer exhausting all other options. seems like the giants alone sent invites to practically first round and a half of highly ranked players. also is it even scouting or just taking lists like we look at and just auto send
gbill2004 Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Some guy on CJOB just said the NFL recently changed it's rules to be more liberal with who they invite to their mini-camps. Not sure exactly what was changed, but we're seeing those results this year.

MTA Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 From the giants camp today 1) Coughlin"We tried to set the record (for most Canadian players in a mini-camp). I think we got it." 2) CFL center Brett Jones, who signed a three-year contract, was getting an earful from offensive line coach Pat Flaherty about dropping his hands between punches in a blocking sled drill. 3) The first interception of camp went to former Concordia linebacker Takari Johnson. He was able to get his hands on a pass in traffic over the middle. 4) Wide receiver Addison Richards of Regina,Saskatchewan, made a nice toe-tapping grab on the sideline. 5) Wide receiver Lemar Durant of Simon Fraser University had a good diving catch from Hawaii product Taylor Graham, who is the son of former Giants quarterback Kent Graham. Rids Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Takari Johnson is from Concordia but not the one in Quebec. He's from the Michigan school of the same name located in Ann Arbor in the deep shadow of the Big M program.
rebusrankin Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 To be optomistic, the Giants have 44 players in that camp. How many realisticly get signed?

MTA Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 From cowboys camp on Brandon Bridge Of the two quarterbacks that worked on the opening day of camp, I liked what I observed from Jameill Showers over Brandon Bridge clearly from an accuracy standpoint. Both quarterbacks have tremendous arm strength, but I knew from studying their college film that there were snaps where the ball would be all over the place. It appeared that Showers did a better job of not only controlling his passes but his emotions as well. I had some concerns about his touch and it was clear that since his last college game it was something that he had worked on.
Rids Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 More from Cowboys camp - 20 minute look in at the rookie practice http://www.dallascowboys.com/video/2015/05/08/mini-camp-live-first-look-rookies-field Note that it's Jameill Showers that gets the ball for the team session. Bridge gets some throws in but starts 0-4.
Goalie Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Lets do this here, CFL draft on Tuesday Bombers pick 2 11 and 15... Heres how i see it going.. 2. Nic Demski U of M 11. DL Daryl Waud (Think he's the one that falls) 15 OL James Bodanis
Noeller Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Hopefully the chat is active that night. Should be a fun evening!!
Rich Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Chat board limit has been upped to 250 (from 50) so we shouldn't hit the limits we saw during free agency day.Though the draft is at night. I wonder if the chat room is busier during the day when people are at work! Noeller and TBURGESS 2
