So why do they have to  add to the trade to be able to get a long snapper for Watson? After they traded a 2nd round pick for him...

Is this guy coming from Edmonton supposed to be really good?

He also punts / placekicks the ball after snapping it to himself .. it's a sight to behold.

I have to agree with Mike....has Taman regressed to the time he left here and said he was burnt out...lol...Giving up on Watson before he even played a down....what the hell is that...Draft pics and Taman seem not to be a good fit AND we seen plenty of that here...Unless there is something else connected to this trade that we don't know about....wow...this one smells to high heaven..

Gave us a 2nd round pick and a NI receiver for Watson and a 3rd round pick then traded him and a 2nd round pick for a 3rd round pick in less deep draft to get a long snapper?  I don't usually LOL at Taman like a bunch of you, but what a horrible trade for the Riders.

Considering what they moved to bring him in and what they brought in to move him out without him ever catching a pass, this does not seem like the finest chapter in Taman's trade bio.

The irony in all of this?

The pick that Edmonton used to take Hus in 2013 was originally Saskatchewan's.

And they dealt it in another awful trade (4th rounder + Matt O'Donnell for Greg Carr + 5th rounder)

Increases the probability that the Riders are picking a "skill" guy at 6.

Or going with an International at SB? Or maybe Watson didn't want to report to Sask's camp? He seemed lukewarm ... probably wanted to go home to Mtl.

With the addition of Watson, Edmonton now has 7 National REC - Bailey, Barrett, Chambers, Coehorn, Foster, Jackson and Watson.

I think someone has to move unless they are planning to start 3 National REC.

Will they trade up (to draft an OL) by giving up their #7, 1 of their REC and a later pick ?

Or they just have depth. Barrett is a project, Jackson is pretty much toast, Foster sucks and Chambers/Watson are injury concerns.

Wait I'm still trying to wrap my head around this... Sask traded away the better player and the better draft pick??

I think someone already summarized this... but they essentially traded 2015 2nd, 2016 2nd, and Kris Bastien for a 2015 3rd, 2016 3rd and Jurgen Hus... Nothing against Hus, but this doesn't seem like good roster management to me... even if Bastien and Hus are a wash, they traded down in both years...
