IC Khari Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Somehow there has to be a long snapper joke in here somewhere ... All the best in Hamilton Johnny ...
kelownabomberfan Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Wish him all the best, whenever he plays any team but us. When he plays us I hope he gets torched.
Noeller Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Really surprised he didn't come back to Wpg when the NFL thing didn't' pan out, but whatever. We'll see if he can stay healthy all year in Hammer...
Goalie Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Good riddance. Jk. Hope he does well. Good player when healthy
basslicker Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 I'll miss him. Loved his hard hitting style. I'll always remember when he blew up Steven Jyles on the slide. Haha. basslicker 1
Westy Sucks Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Will always be a fan of Johnny Sears. Blue-urns 1
Westy Sucks Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 I'll miss him. Loved his hard hitting style. I'll always remember when he blew up Steven Jyles on the slide. Haha. haha that was right in front of us that game. good ol section G days. Probably cost us that game though...
bearpants Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 I like Johnny Sears... some of his hits made me nervous... hope he doesn't do that to us... Mark F 1
Armchair GM Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 I wish him well. Liked his intensity and competitiveness, but he had too much of a penchant for bad, timely penalties. I won't miss those.
gbill2004 Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 @DougBrown97: Can't help but wonder if Johnny Sears signing with Hamilton is the fall out from the number of times he was a healthy scratch last year. Blueandgold, Blue-urns and SPuDS 3
kelownabomberfan Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Now we just have to sit back and see who wins the Ejiro Kuale free agent sweepstakes...
Rod Black Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 I thought Sears was a performer. Enjoyed watching him play.
Goalie Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Probably wanted too much money. I guess sometimes when you wait like sears did to sign late, maybe the contract he was offered earlier just wasn't there anymore. Not sure if falling out is right word. More like sometimes players and teams decide to move on.
SPuDS Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Shame to see him go but I imagine the offer we put on the table in February has diminished due to FA camps and whatnot. He was a very good player for us when he was on the field.. he just wasn't on the field enough. Injuries and not wanting to push people back to the bench because of healing caused him to sit more then he would have liked, I'm sure.. Coupled with ratio issues. Sad to see him go but if he doesn't wanna be a bomber.. Peace! Just another reason to hate the ti-cats I suppose.. Bigblue204 1
DR. CFL Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 The loss of a versatile player who could play a number of spots. Sorry to see him go. Westy Sucks 1
Blueandgold Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 @DougBrown97: Can't help but wonder if Johnny Sears signing with Hamilton is the fall out from the number of times he was a healthy scratch last year. I wouldn't doubt it, but as much as I like Sears it's hard to justify spending a ton of scratch on a guy who's a good bet to miss half the season when we're extremely deep at DB.

We'll be fine without him. Tracker 1
17to85 Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Why the falling out with the current regime ? Only possible thing could be his injury history... or maybe he was upset with the bullshit when he was not put back in the line up when healthy. Guy is a hell of a playmaker. Just been hurt too often. When he's healthy though he is a great defender.
voodoochylde Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Good for Sears and I'm happy to see him getting a shot to make an impact with another club. Best of luck to him.
Bomber_fanaddict Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 I had completely forgotten we didn't re-sign Sears. Always loved seeing those gold shoes bolting down the field and being the first one to make contact. Think Hammy will be happy with him.
Mark F Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 why didn't he get to play more last season? I think we might regret losing this guy.
TBURGESS Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 I love the way Sears plays the game except for the stupid penalties, but he's injured too often to be worth big bucks IMHO. Good luck to him in Hammy.
Goalie Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Sears is a good player when healthy, but that's a BIG when healthy... The fact is, yeah he's a good player but, he's probably pretty easily replaced on the roster. Was he a good one? For sure, Was he elite and one of the best players in the league at his position? probably not.
