Mike Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 Pretty sure this is the guy Jeff Fisher put the blond wig on in practice to emulate Clay Matthews when the Rams were prepping to play the Packers
do or die Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 30 tackles for losses in one year......hmmm....

Mike Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 Jesus christ ... This guy ranks 22nd all time in NCAA history with 50 tackles for a loss. And he only played two years. The all time leader is Khalil Mack with 75 and he played four full years. Other names with 50? Von Miller. Ndamukong Suh. Phillip Hunt. Jpan85, SPuDS, Westy Sucks and 2 others 5
Jpan85 Posted May 14, 2015 Author Report Posted May 14, 2015 Figures why he would wait till now to sign with us. Wonder if they have had him on the neg list for a while?
Mike Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 30 in one year is actually the second highest single season total since they started recording the stat. The year he did it, the next closest was Cordarro Law with 22. Not knowing anything about this guy I immediately had him pegged as a middle linebacker but I have no idea where he's gonna line up. Rush end? northof60 1
Mike Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 Figures why he would wait till now to sign with us. Wonder if they have had him on the neg list for a while? Now that you mention it, I think he has been on our negotiation list for a while. I think I recognize the name from the article Tait put out a few years back with names on it. I'll check edit: nope, nevermind. wasn't him.

TrueBlue Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 13.5 sacks and 30 TFL as an OLB in his senior year leads me to believe that Houston ran a lot of 5-2. northof60 1
Tracker Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 He's built like a MLB and he sure as heck sounds like a tackling machine. northof60 1
Noeller Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 Jesus...this'll be something to watch in camp...

Rush end? Almost every guy comes in with impressive stats, but this...This is something else. Wow.
SPuDS Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 I'm kinda shocked he didn't land another gig in the NFL.. Hopefully their loss is our gain..
kelownabomberfan Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 Finally, could we have found the Tyrone Jones clone we've been looking for for 25 years? johnzo 1
Mike Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 Apparently he's got a rep of being lazy. Imagine if he actually starts trying? New_Earth_Mud and SPuDS 2

do or die Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 Attitude is important.... Ty Jones who was pretty intense at the best of times......sometimes would go back to the D huddle.....very angry, when he though he missed a sack or something......he would then do something about that. And someone would pay.
Bomber_fanaddict Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 Looks like a solid guy to bring to camp. I echo the statement as to why he didn't stick in the NFL. Seems to have the right size for the NFL and a good NCAA career. Who knows though. May have said or done something wrong and got waived. Plenty of talent waiting in the wings in the NFL.
mbrg Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 Due to Duane Slay, I will maintain a holding pattern of cautious optimism for the time being.
BBlink Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 Was their anything impressive stats/pedigree about Slay or was he just impressive looking? I'm seeing a lot of comparisons being made without much justification lately. Not saying this is one but..
