In the video I watched of Hurl last year, he was adequate in defending against the pass and pretty good against the run. I'd say he's closer to Muamba than to Labbe. Definetely a big upgrade over Kuale.

Jade Etienne wouldn't be any worse at linebacker  than Kuale was.

True. Wade Miller today is probably an upgrade over Kuale! lol

Am I crazy to think that maybe with a little more seasoning our best LB group might be...

Waggoner - Bass - Burnett

I just think all 3 of these guys need more CFL experience...

West-Battle-Jones

Oh wait,

Randle-Hurl-Bass

Nodding quietly, I pat my number 58 blue bomber mesh jersey reflecting on defensive glories past. Those are way too big shoes for these young guys to fill. Man I feel old.

I still laugh when I hear Schultzie whine during TSN panels about having to be on the OL with Winnipeg's linebackers constantly blitzing and Tyrone Jones running by him all night destroying the QB.  Must not have been fun to play against those guys.

Starting both Hurl & Waggoner:

WE HAVE GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS

The good news is that we are starting 10 Cabadians ....

Im Curious to see if the roster bauming posted at the start of camp has the updated player hight and weights from the Pysicals this year. Im not sure if those are offical or not.  On that list there is acouple intersting numbers. I dont know how to post that list so ill just say the ones that jumped out at me.

Demtrious Wright listed at 195. On the roster right after he signed it showed 210 which is close enough to linebacker size, but at 195 that is a big swing from the 230 Bass was listed at for the WIL position. Burnett wasnt singed till after the pysicals but it was mentioned he looked alot larger than the 205 the roster has him at so maybe the plan is for him to backup Bass if he gets injured long term. I dont want a redo of last year with undersized DBs getting run all over from run heavy teams.

Briggs and Newman are both up to 215 which is a solid size for WIL backups and spot duty.

Dile (I know hes cut) listed at 275 which is extremely thin for a tackle, maybe he was trying to be more athletic to avoid injury but interesting none the less

Turner (260) and Anderson (270) each down 20 lbs from last year and Peach (260) and Fraser (265) both up 10-15 lbs  . If they are actually all playing around the same size, my guess is they are planning on a heavy rotation throughout all positions. Worth noting Westerman also listed at 260.

Now lets just hope Baumings tweet was legit with info from the pysicals, or else i just wasted way too much time

Randle's playing a new spot and Hurl's got what 8 starts at MLB.

So vet but not vet enough? It's not like he was playing o-line his whole life prior to starting at the CFL level as a MLB
