Mike Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Interesting - wonder if they view him as a veteran presence for what is a fairly young linebacking core.
Mike Posted June 22, 2015 Author Report Posted June 22, 2015 And now he's officially been added to the practice roster.
Nolby Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 I don't mind this at all. Don't know tons about the guy but have heard his name lots.
M.O.A.B. Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 This should enable them to move Randle back to weakside CB. Shell plays on the SAM. I'm good with that. Doublezero 1
Noeller Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Not to sound like the others making comparisons with Addison Richards, etc, but this feels similar to the Romby Bryant move of last year...
Mike Posted June 22, 2015 Author Report Posted June 22, 2015 The way I look at it - it's a veteran presence in the secondary / linebacking group. Not to mention even at 33, this guy brings it on special teams. I don't like a lot of these old age signings (such as Bryant last year) but I like Shell. KptKrunch, Noeller and SPuDS 3
Noeller Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Also of note, Malachi Freeman released to make room...
kelownabomberfan Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 I don't know if people remember the show that TSN did on the Argos behind the scenes a few years ago but on one show they focused on Lin J Shell for an episode and how much he does to help youth football in Florida and getting kids out of gangs and off the streets. I wish him all the best, and if he can help the Bombers this year, I hope he enjoys his one last year in the sun. SPuDS and northof60 2
rebusrankin Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Mixed feelings on this. Feels a little Kuale/Romyeque but given the greeness of our lb core, likely a good move.
gbill2004 Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 If he can play SAM I like the move. Sounds like he's an option at safety and DB too. I didn't watch him at all last year, but if he any better than Jovon/Banks were in their final year with the Bombers?
Fatty Liver Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 At his age it seems like a regressive move, unless he can be expected to instruct the starters on playing the position better.
TBURGESS Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Shell's best days are behind him IMO. Don't think he's an upgrade over our current DB's.
Goalie Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Meanwhile Vega signs in Toronto as does Whittaker and we talking about us signing a washed up player? Wow. Brandon 1
gbill2004 Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Has he ever played for Richie Hall before?

kelownabomberfan Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Has he ever played for Richie Hall before? Don't think so.
BBlink Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Also of note, Malachi Freeman released to make room... Really? He seemed like a gamer to me...
Noeller Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Meanwhile Vega signs in Toronto as does Whittaker and we talking about us signing a washed up player? Wow. Vega and Whittaker are both washed up too. If Vega's healthy, he's far from washed up... mbrg 1
Noeller Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Also of note, Malachi Freeman released to make room... Really? He seemed like a gamer to me... Also thought it odd, as he's the most recent name brought in to camp...

Brandon Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 What makes Shell washed up? How come when ancient Korey Banks was signed this was a smart move to add a veteran? Goalie 1
M.O.A.B. Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Age... is in the eye of the beholder..... The more glass of gin you take... the people in front of you gets younger
