DR. CFL Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 A little early for the revolving door. Maybe 8 games in when the injuries start to take their toll.
Taynted_Fayth Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 A little early for the revolving door. Maybe 8 games in when the injuries start to take their toll. or they arent fully content with what they saw out of our linebackers and what they've seen from shell might equal or be better then what we currently have?
Noeller Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Or.....and this is a long shot, I know......they saw someone they believe is a quality football player who can help the team.............. SPuDS 1
gbill2004 Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 Or.....and this is a long shot, I know......they saw someone they believe is a quality football player who can help the team..............But that's no fun. There's gotta be some controversy, drama, bad decision or ulterior motive for this signing. Noeller 1
Mr Dee Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 I personally don't care about his age, eye colour, or hyphenage. If this player can help us win...sign him up. MinisterOfD5, SPuDS, Noeller and 2 others 5
kelownabomberfan Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 just wondering who in Calgary beat him out. Was he better or just younger and cheaper?
Jpan85 Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 I think they moved Kenyon Raymond inside this year. But don't quote me on that.

gbill2004 Posted June 22, 2015 Report Posted June 22, 2015 @SUNMitchell: @garrettbillan1 He started at field corner, SAM and dabbled at half last year. If they didn't sign Burnett, he'd still be here. Not done. Noeller and SPuDS 2

wbbfan Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 LJ shell is at worst a highly productive Ster, strong veteran presence to bring along our young lbs, a flexible guy who can play a few positions, and a guy whose good for the locker room. I dont blame people for knee jerking to conclusions like romby, kuale, etc. But i dont think he'd be any of that at his very worst. This kind of reminds me of ritchie bringing in a bunch of vets early in his time here. (coleman, mcgriggs etc) sweep the leg 1

dmillerywg Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Another old former Argo...pass... Agreed the only former Argos worth picking up so far has been JFG the others have been busts ( Romby B,. EJ etc ) ...
Brandon Blue&Gold Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Another old former Argo...pass... Agreed the only former Argos worth picking up so far has been JFG the others have been busts ( Romby B,. EJ etc ) ... Not a fan of Thad Gibson? He did take a dumb penalty last friday .
dmillerywg Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Meanwhile Vega signs in Toronto as does Whittaker and we talking about us signing a washed up player? Wow. Vega and Whittaker are both washed up too. If Vega's healthy, he's far from washed up... Agreed Vega isn't washed up however he was never a dominate DE and won't be this year either he is a solid DE that is nothing special...

I have never seen Gibson so I am not sure about him, however it seems the Bombers have given him EVERY opportunity and so far he hasn`t done much I don`t think he has even played a regular season game for us...so lets see why the Bomber as so high on him... they have given him 2 leaves one last year and one this he better be good otherwise I will start to question how they have handled mister Gibson...

So you straight up deny knowing what he is capable of or even seeing him but still feel the need to slight him.. Makes sense. Also, the dislike of Picard, Rempel and Darwin Adams seems misplaced lol.

Aside from his bad penalty I heard Gibson get some props from Irving and co. Seemed about as effective as Peach and Westerman. But the regular season will be a better indicator if Gibson will be good for us. And as for the price we paid for him, Alex Suber was released by the Argos. Gibson is still playing and fills a need for us. At this point it's a good trade for the Bombers. I do agree though it did take a while for him to show up. But I don't know offhand what the story was behind that. Family issues? shadybob 1
sweep the leg Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 I thought GIbson got the most pressure of anybody on our dl against Hamilton. He looks really fast to me. He took a couple of penalties, but that can (hopefully) be fixed. shadybob 1
bearpants Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 some fans: "I'M OUTRAGED WE HAVE NO VETERANS ON DEFENSE!" *Bombers sign veteran DB/LB* same fans: "THIS GUY IS TOO OLD AND HE'S USELESS! I KNOW BETTER THAN THE TEAM!" Mark F, IC Khari, northof60 and 8 others 11
GCn20 Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 From a purely roster building for on-field talent perspective Lin-J may not be the absolute best player we could have acquired. He is a capable player though. From a team building/locker room perspective is where he adds a ton of value. Everything I have read about him says he is a dressing room "glue guy" that works hard, and is very well liked in the dressing rooms he has played in. Bringing in a capable veteran that will aid in the leadership department may not show up on the stat sheet, but it is exactly the type of acquisitions that can greatly aid a young team get confidence as it learns to win. The lack of these type of roster moves, is what cost Mack his job imo. I am glad that it appears Walters gets that building a team is more than just a straight acquisition of talent. You need the intangibles as well. Lin-J may not have much gas in the tank as a player, but he brings intangibles to a young team. shadybob, Jaxon and sweep the leg 3

I was referring to the former Argos from last year specifically, and Gibson didn't step on the field in 2014 for the Bombers.... so of all of the Argos that came here in 2014 only JFG was the only one that was good for the Bombers... If Gibson turns out this year great but he was a bust in 2014
