Atomic Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 @TheHockeyChat: Flyers sign Sean Couturier to a 6 year deal worth $4.3M / YR That can be a huge bargain in a few years #NHL Model for Scheifele's contract?
The Unknown Poster Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 Maybe. Depends on this season. I think the Jets might get Scheif cheaper. Does that six years take Couturier to one year before free agency? To me, ideally, you sign these guys to contracts that still leaves a couple of years of restricted free agency so you can then, if you choose, try and lock them up into their early 30's.
The Unknown Poster Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 You have to wonder what the Canucks are thinking. Im no expert on the players involved but most people are saying the Canucks traded away the better player with the better contract plus the better prospect and better pick for the lesser player with a more expensive contract and a worse pick. Canucks are probably going to get pretty bad before they turn the corner but giving up good prospects and picks isnt going to help.
HardCoreBlue Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 Eric Fehr gets 2 mill for three years? Fascinating. Per year Yes I know and I'm fascinated he got that.
Brandon Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 Makes u wonder how Fehr would do now that we a good team. He was interviewed awhile back on 1290 and said that he was so banged up that he shouldn't of even been playing when he was with us.
The Unknown Poster Posted July 30, 2015 Report Posted July 30, 2015 @FriedgeHNIC: Work still being done on Sutter extension in VAN, but hearing five years is expected to be the term. AAV sounds like just under $4.4M. Are the Canucks management on drugs?
FrostyWinnipeg Posted July 30, 2015 Report Posted July 30, 2015 What happened to our Sutter? kelownabomberfan 1

AAV sounds like just under $4.4M. Are the Canucks management on drugs? I still think Sutter could be worth that, I like him as a player and I don't think he's anywhere near his ceiling. But a contract like that, based purely on potential, I don't know... They better hope he develops like they want him to. So many ways for a contract like that to go bad.
The Unknown Poster Posted July 30, 2015 Report Posted July 30, 2015 I dont dislike him. But you dont hand out deals like that for a guy who struggled on a good team to be a consistent 3rd line center.
Ducky Posted July 30, 2015 Report Posted July 30, 2015 The Philadelphia Flyers signed forward Jakub Voracek to an eight-year, $66 million contract extension on Thursday. The deal holds an average annual value of $8.25 million.
Goalie Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 Voracek has been very good for Philly. Don't like that deal tho but....
FrostyWinnipeg Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 Overpaid but hes gotten better every year so who knows.
kelownabomberfan Posted August 1, 2015 Report Posted August 1, 2015 What happened to our Sutter? He is fighting for MVCJ right now in Vulcan Alberta. Most Valuable Combine Jockey. FrostyWinnipeg 1

Brandon Posted August 2, 2015 Report Posted August 2, 2015 Wasn't Sutter picked up by another team last year?
kelownabomberfan Posted August 2, 2015 Report Posted August 2, 2015 Wasn't Sutter picked up by another team last year? he was re-drafted by the Islanders in 2014. He's currently playing in the ECHL. The league of last resort.
Floyd Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 I'd be surprised if the Jets don't re-sign Slater... Chevy can't be going all-in with prospects... sticking point right now is probably two-way contract.
Rich Posted August 3, 2015 Author Report Posted August 3, 2015 Jets have to start inserting at least a couple of rookies per year. My money on one of those is Copp to replace Slater. Goalie 1
Goalie Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 And ehlers to replace frolik. Wouldn't surprise me to see Lemieux also make the team. Petan too but that probably means copp doesn't
