do or die Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Things started out well.....75 yd TD drive... Cotton ran the ball well, until panic later set in, on O..... ....that just about covered the good news.... Blue then vaporized/imploded in the second quarter: - Willy thows pick, Ham scores on 3rd and 3 gamble. - Willy knocked cold on next offensive series. - Banks runs ensuing punt back for TD - couple of penalties sets up another Ham. TD - Brohm finally throws a td pass.....but to a Tigercat - Grant gets wide open for easy TD...38-7. Marshall punches one in for 6.... But extra point hits the bar.... ....to provide a fitting end to the half...I mean the game.... Nothing like 40 minutes of garbage time...... Bombers lost all poise, took 17 penalties Bombers came roaring out for the 2nd half.... ...with a dropped pass and penalty, first 2 plays.... Zach Collaros was just killing it....as well as the Blue D As Bomber pressure packages....didn't get it done, again While Hamilton pressure, blew our offense apart..... Demond Washington at least, gave it a go Hajrullahu punted very well, and made a tackle..... .....was probably one more, than some guys on D. Brohm looks at defenses with the 5000 yd stare.... ....but cant throw the ball 20 yds to save his life.... His telegraphing skills, are going to get some receiver killed.... ...admittedly.... he can throw the hell out of the 3 yd curl.... ...by 4ht series, crowd was calling for Marve.... Why did we go away from Cotton? Why is Marshall returning kickoffs? Why is Brohm still #2 QB? Why can't we make adjustments - STILL Rum Hut did record business in 3rd Quarter..... D-line simply needs more beef, from somewhere..... Westerman has made minimal impact... ...unless you count late hits... Need to fit Hurl with a parole leg tracker.... ..so someone can figure out where the hell he is.... Actually secondary could be alright...... ...if it wasn't stuck in the Charmin Soft Zone Defense Moving Randle to LB....not impressed so far.... Right now this D, overall...just looks like a breakfast special..... Kept wishing that the smoky haze..... ....could simply swallow up this whole affair..... Did see some real winners tonight.... ...too bad it was the 1990 Alumni.... MB and Hall.....need to contact TigerCat coaching staff... ...to find out where their lunch and milk money went.... Watching us "defend" our home turf..... ....sort of reminded me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail O'Shea needs to loose that toothpaste grin..... ...redecorate the clubhouse.....and warm up the truck..... Hamilton is a good team right now....we are not. What I'm really trying to say here.....Bombers got hammered ....and so did I. Floyd, Piggy 1, JohnnyOnTheSpot and 6 others 9
The Unknown Poster Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 That was rough. Meet the new Bombers. Same as the old.
do or die Posted July 3, 2015 Author Report Posted July 3, 2015 So pissed in more ways than one, right now....
SPuDS Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Game 1 was watchable. Game 2 was atrocious. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.. If game 3 and 4 follow suit, I'll be singing a different tune for sure, (contrary to popular belief) Good synopsis though DOD, as always
do or die Posted July 3, 2015 Author Report Posted July 3, 2015 Just appalled at the way we were outcoached in this one... HardCoreBlue 1
kelownabomberfan Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Watching Brohm out there just had me screaming WHY at the TV. I was having Boltus flashbacks. HardCoreBlue 1

JayBallz Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Perfectly articulated as always. I hope somebody is collecting these to put in a book someday. Mark F 1
LeBird Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 MOS might just stubborn his way out of football.
Brandon Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 It is baffling.. Literally everyone (fans/media/radio guys) are screaming for Marve to play... Yet they kept with Brohm? Brohm could not handle the blitz... Did the Blue forget about how Marve handled the blitz last season and that he has legs and could avoid the rush..
do or die Posted July 3, 2015 Author Report Posted July 3, 2015 No, no.....you beat the blitz with 3 yd curls, thrown at the receiver's feet..... TBURGESS 1
New_Earth_Mud Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 No, no.....you beat the blitz with 3 yd curls, thrown at the receiver's feet..... LOL Guys going to get someone killed
Adrenaline_x Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 whats the mantra here? the coaches know best and are better at evaluating talent then us armchair Coaches/gms. So.. assuming the above is true then MArve must really suck compared to Brohm, and the Dline, zone coverage players etc must suck. I don't think marve would of won the game, but he is alot more exciting to watch then brohm throwing the ball into the dirt. GCJenks 1
basslicker Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 When you're players are weak, you play zone. And man, did we ever play a lot of zone out there. Our defensive backfield is very weak.

I don't necessarily think the backfield is weak, I *DO* think that they aren't being used effectively and .. in the case of Randle .. aren't being played in the best possible position.

But he still might be slotted in the wrong spot. I don't know who would be better at SAM but Randle's given up 3 TDs against in the first couple of games and more in the pre-season.
Goalie Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 It's cuz hall has them playing 5 to 10 yards off the receivers. It was pitch and catch last night all game long. Too easy for Collaros
Shanks Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 So pissed in more ways than one, right now.... Along with ineffective play there is one other problem the Bombers have and you touched on it. O'Shea's stubborn streak is going to bring this club down this year if he continues his affair with Brohm. The most glaring mistake he's making is his loyalty to a QB who cannot, cannot throw a ball to a receiver without bouncing it to him. Whether ir's 10 yards or 40 yards the ball falls short. His long passes can be timed in 10 second intervals. His mobility is non existant. How O'Shea sees a backup QB in Brohm is beyond me and just about anyone who cared to watch him. In my uneducated opinion having a mobile QB when the opposition is bring the house makes sense. I've only been watching Bomber football for 57 years so I have noticed a thing or two. If you have a QB who has cement feet he has to have a quick release. Brohm has cement feet and a slow release. So O'Shea has to own part of last nite's debacle. I was willing to give Brohm and O'Shea the benefit of the doubt....but no more. No wonder the team was deflated after Willy went down. NOBODY has any confidense in the #2 QB. Mark F 1
do or die Posted July 3, 2015 Author Report Posted July 3, 2015 Good thing I am embracing my role, as well... *Screw cap slowly turning* bearpants 1
BBlink Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 No pressure on the QB. Not taking any throwing lanes away. Coupled with Hamilton having pretty good receivers...i wonder why our DBs are struggling
Tracker Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 Rewind to first quarter: Willy had a good first series but his identified inablity to deal with blitzes became evident again. This would have resulted in his getting pounded again and agin even if he did not get sidelined by a dirty hit. The O-line was at least as confused as Willy for the first half- where the he11 is our O-line coaching. The DBs were supposed to be the best part of the defence and were not. The D-line and linebackers were no better than last season and maybe even worse. Kallif Mitchell is starting to look good. Brohm is going to get O`Shea fired and from all the new (to the CFL) faces we brought in, not one has looked like a starter except maybe Marshall, and he was here last year. I`m really getting tired of promises with no delivery.
