cptkirk Posted July 14, 2015 Report Posted July 14, 2015 Question for the board: Montreal's last challenge. Am I missing something? I thought that coaches could not challenge in the last three minutes of the fourth quarter. Did they change this? If not why wasn't this a penalty? From the 2013 Rule Book (the one currently posted on CFL.ca website). The teams are not permitted to use any challenges once the three-minute warning has occurred in the fourth quarter, regardless of how many challenges or time-outs they have remaining. If a team is unsuccessful with their first challenge, they will not lose a time-out.
Valderan_CA Posted July 14, 2015 Report Posted July 14, 2015 You can still challenge PI calls during the last 3 minutes
TrueBlue4ever Posted July 14, 2015 Report Posted July 14, 2015 I thought the same thing at the time, but the rule was changed in 2014 (hence the reason it is not in the outdated rule book - get with the program, cfl.ca!) when coaches were given the opportunity to challenge pass interference. As long as a coach still has a timeout available they can throw a challenge flag on pass interference in the last 3 minutes of the game. Thanks to Bob Irving for that clarification BTW.
