Fraser Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 I was so chapped when they used the GST reduction as a cheap vote-get. Pissed me off to no end. So many idiots barked like seals about how great it was, not realizing the easy money it provides for the government. I'm a big fan of goods and service taxes...don't wanna pay it? Don't buy stuff. It's that simple. I much prefer a consumption task. It taxes those that choose to consume and promotes savings. I get spending is needed for the economy but canada needs most people that are saving. rebusrankin 1
The Unknown Poster Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 @CTVNews: BREAKING: #CTVElection desk projects a Liberal win in #Elxn42. https://t.co/C0UJlCkLwV That's quick! Congrats to the Liberals. Don't screw it up kid!
bigg jay Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 A few networks (cbc & ctv for example) already calling it for the Liberals. They won't speculate on whether or not it will be a majority.

bigg jay Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Very early but Mulcair is trailing in his riding.
Mark H. Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 I think a majority will not be decided till the BC results come in
The Unknown Poster Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 @RichardMadan: Another call from #CTVElection desk: #CPC takes Official Opposition; that means #NDP tumbles to third #elxn42 https://t.co/KaLAvzbdCw
The Unknown Poster Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Watching election results was more fun before social media when you didn't have a lot of sore losers and poor winners heckling and mocking I believe two things in the aftermath of an election: 1) the out going PM deserves respect 2) the incoming PM deserves respect. Too much to ask. Jpan85, Mark H. and FrostyWinnipeg 3
rebusrankin Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 A little surprised the Liberals are so close to a majority but what do I know.
bigg jay Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Some very interesting results in Winnipeg so far. Fletcher is in danger of losing his seat. Transcona/Elmwood is a tight 3 way race with 40 votes separating 1st and 3rd.
The Unknown Poster Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 @stephen_taylor: Canadian Press projects a Liberal Majority. Wow
The Unknown Poster Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Underestimated the NDP collapse? Is that what this is?
bigg jay Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 It's a complete collapse. Even Layton's widow couldn't win tonight. That should spell the end of Mulcair.
Brandon Blue&Gold Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Out here in Brandon-Souris the Conservative is leading, no surprise since we usually vote Cons in Westman. But the Liberal candidate isn't far behind, and it's still early. NDP is battling the Green for 3rd place well behind the top two.
The Unknown Poster Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 @ACarterglobal: Global declares Liberal majority government. #elxn42 @globalnewsto
The Unknown Poster Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 So let's predict Harper resigns. Conservatives in-fight splitting the moderate right and right wing nuts. NDP slips into oblivion. Liberals win three more majorities before inevitable arrogance and scandal force them out
kcin94 Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 So let's predict Harper resigns. Conservatives in-fight splitting the moderate right and right wing nuts. NDP slips into oblivion. Liberals win three more majorities before inevitable arrogance and scandal force them out I doubt it. It hasn't been that long since Conservatives had a split right and everybody was calling for unity. I doubt they will split so quickly. Getting a new leader was necessary as after enough time everybody can find something wrong with Harper. The same was true of Mulroney, Cretien. The best thing for them to do is get a more moderate leader for the future. Unfortunately, so many candidates have left before this election.

Taynted_Fayth Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 My facebook is flooded with first time voters. I dont think liberals winning majority would be due to over estimating the ndp, it was underestimating the appeal to gen Xers with trudeaus legalizing weed platform. They often complained about low turn outs... thats all it took lol
iso_55 Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 It's a complete collapse. Even Layton's widow couldn't win tonight. That should spell the end of Mulcair. Yay!!!
The Unknown Poster Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 @CBCAlerts: Conservative Leader Stephen Harper re-elected in Calgary Heritage. #elxn42
The Unknown Poster Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 @CBCAlerts: Note all votes counted but #Liberals polling more than 44% of popular vote, Tories about 30%, NDP about 18%, BQ 3.9%, Green 2.9%. #elxn42 . So If the liberals don't get 50% will liberal Supporters demand they step down due to illegitimacy? Lol max power 1
Fraser Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 I'm very excited for the end of prohibition on weed. I don't smoke nor do I plan to but too many resources are being tied up in enforcing prohibition. Houses are being destroyed. The money is being used to fund other illegal activity. I think its very positive. sweep the leg, tacklewasher, Noeller and 2 others 5
The Unknown Poster Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 If Harper fails to win the most seats, 71 per cent of respondents say he should resign, while just 29 per cent say he should remain as leader. Those numbers drop among Conservative respondents: 64 per cent say he should stay on, while 36 per cent say he should resign.
