Pete Catan's Ghost Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 I have to admit that I haven't spent much time focusing on Waggoner until last game when he went down to injury after a ST play. 1) Is he back at practice? 2) Does anyone have any opinions one way or the other on his progress?

Yes he was at practice today.
Goalie Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Special Teams ace really. Will be a good one and wouldn't surprise me If he's a starter next season wbbfan 1
gbill2004 Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Yep he's got starting MLB written all over him.
Floyd Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Really like that bombers are loading up on LB/DB talent - Newman, Sherman, Briggs, Waggoner, Morgan, Jones... one or more of these will emerge in the next couple years as a starter

Bringing in as many as you can is just a bloody good idea. Fred C Dobbs and SPuDS 2

LB and DB depth is essential for ST and spot duty if called for... i love that our ST guys can fill in for defensive reps without a terrible drop off.. not like in seasons past. the watcher 1
GCn20 Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 I`ve only been to a few practices this year, but he reminds me a lot of Henoc when he was in his first season. Waggoner works really hard on every rep and has explosive speed sideline to sideline. I think that in time he will be a gooder. Not sure that he will be a MLB, more likely a WIL LBer.
Mike Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 He's following the same path as Henoc did as far as progression goes and to be honest, he looks good doing it.
GCn20 Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 He's following the same path as Henoc did as far as progression goes and to be honest, he looks good doing it. Has the same work ethic as Henoc had. Doesn`t take a rep off. Wants to be in the mix on every play and has the physical tools to do it. Needs to learn some of the nuances of the Canadian game, but he is a baller.
Stickem Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 Got a little scary when he went down on the sidelines....Great effort on special teams and this kid has star written all over him...Glad he's back practising and is healthy..
Blueandgold Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 I'm sure by this time of the year he'll have easily taken the job from Hurl.
JayBallz Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 So is that the "long con" for the presence of Hurl at mlb this season? A place holder for mlb to be a NAT position going forward? Might explain some of the rationale for the current lb roster...
M.O.A.B. Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 I expect Waggonner to have decent amount of snaps on D tomorrow.
Tracker Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 I expect Waggonner to have decent amount of snaps on D tomorrow. Nothing but upside for Waggoner. He appears to have the smarts, the right passport, and the physical tools. All he needs is adaptation to the CFL nd experience and we just might have another Muamba but one who doesn't flee the to USofA.
James Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 I don't think Waggoner will be in the middle... not that he can't do it... but he's a perfect candidate for WLB. I think we could have a guy like Bass or a Bear woods type un the middle with Waggoner at WILL next year and we will be set

He's got the skills and leadership qualities to succeed there too. IC Khari 1
