Jpan85 Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 Cubs have the advantage of having Joe Maddon as manager they both think very highly of each other. Exciting time to be a Cubs fan. Looks like might go hard to get two of the better pitchers on the market and Jason Hayward.
Taynted_Fayth Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 I expect the jays to offer big. Itd be stupid of the jays management not to see or appreciate what opening their wallets did not just for the on field product but attendence and bottom line. They have a relatively young team, if they have concern about their pipeline, u do whats necessairly to keep this team intact until u restock the cupboards
Taynted_Fayth Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 IF we can lock up price, with strowman and estrada, we have a 4th option. during the jays/royals series we claimed pitcher pat venditte off waivers who is the only switch pitcher in the majors right now. he could be a solid 4th assuming buerhle and dickey are done
bustamente Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 Estrada is also a free agent so you better get him signed before you start to set up your rotation. By the way i hear AA gave up 20 prospects in all the trades he made.
Noeller Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 They've already announced that Sanchez is coming out of the bullpen to join the starting rotation next year... Fwiw.

Taynted_Fayth Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 dont have any reason why not, if he sucks maybe he just turns into the new sanchez and is a bull pen player if in fact sanchez is coming to the starting rotation. I was reading up on venditte a little more, imagine having a player that can could potentially pitch 200 pitches a game (wishful thinking but no reason to think you couldnt get 100 pitches left arm, 100 pitches right arm)
bustamente Posted November 2, 2015 Report Posted November 2, 2015 Congratulations KC. What a team. Yes thanks KC for beating the Mets being a Yankees fan i couldn't bare it if the Mets would of won the World Series
Guest J5V Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 Congratulations KC. What a team. At least we got beat by the best team in baseball.
Taynted_Fayth Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 Aww they didnt seem all that..... we were beatin...by...the...best bearpants 1

I was reading up on venditte a little more, imagine having a player that can could potentially pitch 200 pitches a game (wishful thinking but no reason to think you couldnt get 100 pitches left arm, 100 pitches right arm) I think you're in serious trouble if you're throwing 200 pitches in one game...
Taynted_Fayth Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 Lol I wouldnt want that many pitches for sure, but the guy can potentially burn one arm then switch arms. Hes much better right handed but his numbers left handed arent that bad
bearpants Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 Lol I wouldnt want that many pitches for sure, but the guy can potentially burn one arm then switch arms. Hes much better right handed but his numbers left handed arent that bad if he's good enough, one thing could be a major advantage in the playoffs... start one game as a righty and then be available the next couple games as a lefty in the bullpen...
Taynted_Fayth Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 I dont know if it applies to the majors, but he was told he had to declare what hand he was pitchig the batter before they stepped into the batter box in the minors - not being allowed to switch hands during the at bat, but I dont beleve he was restricted from changing back n forth for every new batter. His numbers arent deadly, but he put up reasonable stats pitching for oakland (something like 1.18 era right handed, 2.78 era left) I dont think he ever pitched for the yankees tho despite being a 2008 draft of theirs
Taynted_Fayth Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Estrada offered a 1 year 15.8m extention by the jays, has 1 week to accept. reported Cubs are the front runner in offer for price
Goalie Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Price kind of sucked in the playoffs. Sign Estrada and Jays will be OK with Stroman Estrada Dickey Sanchez and ... ?? Go after Zach Greinke... I'd take him over price any day. Greinke gonna get paid But doesn't small market low budget KC winning proves that you really don't need a price or a guy like that? ?
Goalie Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Estrada and Stroman both proved that when the game matters most, they are MONEY... Price did not, I'd rather give that money to Estrada than Price that's for sure... Price sucks when it matters most.
Taynted_Fayth Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Im on the fence with price, he was money helping them get to the playoffs. but yeah his track record in the post season is pretty bad (like 0-8 now or something?) kinda like the baseball version of Joe Thorton. boy did that guy F up my playoff hockey pools year after year for a while
Brandon Posted November 8, 2015 Report Posted November 8, 2015 Price was amazing during the regular season.... he definitely is worth the... Price
Taynted_Fayth Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 well its reported the jays are offering price a long term offer, not sure how much, but also going after greinke. that would be huge to get both. some award bs tho, pallard didnt win a gold glove (robbery) and donaldson only a finalist so far for AL MVP (with trout and cain)
Taynted_Fayth Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 I didnt follow the Rays all that closely (not much at all really) and Kiermaier who won the gold glove over Pillar had a league leading 42 saved runs, but I still think it was robbery. Pillar was a human highlight reel this year defensively. I dont even think im saying that biasedly as a jays fan

Goalie Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 7 years 217 million for price. Red Sox signed him. That's a lot of money for a guy who sucks in the playoffs That's 31 million a year or 658000 a week. Now that is stupid money
