Funny that the richest owners in the league would not anti up the money. Anyone who says they can't afford Prices does not know what they are talking about.

Wonder if they'll now make a big push for Greinke......(or did I miss any news on him going somewhere already?)

No they will not spend that amount of money on pitcher. Plus I don't think Greinke would go there. Is a little bit of a weird guy. Most likely stays in California.

I got really tired, really quick, of all that extraneous bullshit. It distracted from the actual games and the team...which are the real story. Why do you need a freakshow/sideshow?

Kawasaki was very little used,  and didn't have great batting numbers, but I found his interviews light hearted and humorous, nothing wrong with a little fun.  I dont think it stole any thunder away from what the team or actual players were doing in the least

There was a rumor going around i saw yesterday Jays involved in a 3 way trade that would land us Red's Jay Bruce inexchange for sending Michael Saunders to the angels apparently fell apart due to Saunders health thats too bad. Bruce isnt a world beater but a solid Left handed batter that good on both sides of the ball

Hes been a bit on the decline last 2 years but hes a power hitter, so hes not gonna be jacking his average with singles and doubles,  he might have only had a .226 average but he did get 26hrs and 87 rbis last year,  the more telling thing about his stats is 131 hits to 145 SO last year in 580 plate appearances.  so hes roughly gonna either hit or miss. not much inbetween.

he's 28 and played 157 games last year, so hes healthy.  Saunders might be a big ? for the rest of his career depending how bad that sprinkler F'd him up

You know who the owners are?

and they don't spend **** on the Jays, normally. Last year they had a bit of budget, but the Jays don't get much from Rogers.

Raps and Leafs are pretty much able to do what they want, but until last year at the deadline, the Jays never had much of a budget. I'm not sure what the logic is, but Rogers doesn't see fit to pump money into the Jays organization, which is a real shame for the fans.

It was one of the Jays' minor league players not Saunders, apparently, that had the health issue.  Saunders was my first thought too.

oh ok, i thought i saw saunders name only but that might have just been as the main trading piece.  Apparently this isnt the first time the Jays have tried for Bruce and it falling through, they might still look to swing a deal one way or another, but that last deal woulda been good for the Jays, especially if we lose Bautista next year,  power hitter who plays RF. sure hes not as good as bautista but 26hrs and 87 rbis last year and 8 years younger puts him around 4th or 5th on the team and a fraction of the cost.

If Bautista is not re-upping they should be looking at EE for a few more years, and then try hard to resign donaldson in 2018+

Some of the greatest players in Toronto Blue Jays history, including the legendary Roberto Alomar, one of the best second basemen to ever play the game, will be putting on a minor baseball camp in Ile des Chenes in July.

Called the Blue Jays Honda Super Camp as part of the Blue Jays Baseball Academy, the Ile des Chenes camp, hosted by Seine River Minor Ball, will be held July 20 & 21. Other Blue Jay greats participating in the camp will be iconic outfielders Lloyd Moseby and Devon White and pitcher Duane Ward.

The Blue Jays Academy Honda Super Camps are being held across the country this summer with the Ile des Chenes camp the only Manitoba stop on the tour.

Why Ile des Chenes you ask? Well, it’s all because of Alex Grenier, super volunteer, a driving force being behind minor baseball in Ile des Chenes, Seine River and the Carillon Minor Baseball Association.

"I noticed back in November that the Blue Jays were looking for a Manitoba location to host their camp this summer," explained Grenier, "so I applied to the Blue Jays to host it here in Ile des Chenes."

The camp, for ages 9-16 will be held each day from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Each participant at the camp will receive a Blue Jays hat and T-shirt as well as autographs from the four Blue Jay greats.

Cost is $199 for each camp participant, which can only be considered a once in a lifetime opportunity and Grenier expects registration to fill up fast. To register go to www.bluejays.com/camps.

Also in the afternoon of the first day will be the T12 tryouts for players 18 & under for the right to play on the Prairie Team in a national tournament later in the year at the Rogers Centre. Registration for the T12 camp can be also be made at the same Blue Jays website.

This would have blew my mind if this happened when i was a kid, im still excited for this as i currently live in Ile Des Chenes.  My son hasnt played baseball since he fell in love with football, but i really hope he'd be interested in this as a bday present
