Mr. Perfect Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 That game is in my personal top ten favourites for Bomber games. I'm not defending or advocating for Mike Kelly by any means with this next comment, but when his offence was clicking (this, and the Thanksgiving game in Hamilton immediately come to mind) it was an exciting team to watch.
iso_55 Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 An offensive line that actually blocked. What a concept! Brandon 1
M.O.A.B. Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Vote Mike Kelly as Offensive Coordinator! IC Khari, rebusrankin and Logan007 3
MOBomberFan Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 I will never forget this game! Incredible performance by Fred Reid.
Rich Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Apologies as I can't embed a video for the life of me.......but this is worth a watch! Embedded it for you. Noeller 1
IC Khari Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 I just saw Brock Ralph in those highlights ... thanks for ruining my weekend wbbfan 1
TrueBlue Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Yvenson Bernard also had over 100 yards as well that game. 350+ yards combined rushing. Those guys cut through the BC defense like a hot knife through butter.
Fan Boy Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 An offensive line that actually blocked. What a concept! I think there is more than just blocking here. There was was some great cutting and space recognition.
johnzo Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Oh man we owned Javier Glatt so bad all game. Open up a dictionary, look at "chase position," you'll see a picture of Glatt. I'll never ever forget this game. My wife and I had flown to Istanbul on vacation. We were in the air for a day, we were too tired to do anything when we landed. Got into our hotel, got down into the lounge, had a beer and some awesome mezze, opened up my laptop, found a stream just as Arceneaux caught that sweet TD bomb from Jarious. Figured, aw ****, here we go again .. and then Reid and Bernard got to work. Amazing. HardCoreBlue and Mark F 2
TrueBlue Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Not to highjack the thread, but speaking of highlight games in the dog years, this one will also stand out for me for a long time. The win was great, but seeing Casey Printers cry on the sidelines after was epic. sweep the leg and Chaosmonkey 2
Noeller Posted August 21, 2015 Author Report Posted August 21, 2015 The one vs Montreal around 2004 or 2005 that was our first win of the season...thats another "rare get in lean years" game.
iso_55 Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Apologies as I can't embed a video for the life of me.......but this is worth a watch! Embedded it for you. How do you do that?
Rich Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Apologies as I can't embed a video for the life of me.......but this is worth a watch! Embedded it for you. How do you do that? I just paste the url in and the everything else takes care of itself. If you put it in as a web link though it won't embed the video. Noeller 1
Logan007 Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 An offensive line that actually blocked. What a concept! Better then that...an offense that actually ran the ball!
wbbfan Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 this was an awesome game. i kind of feel like people kinda slept on fred reid with kind of a charles roberts hang over. I sure feel like i did. This games up there with the milt td to beat edmonton, khari to arland bruce come back in calgary, and just under kerwin bell passing the ball to little kerwin in the end zone as an argo.
fan4life Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 I happened to be in BC on business and was at this game. I was row 1 and was shaking hands with Fred Reid when he was announced as the Gladiator on TSN. Then went to shark club and some of the players came in as it was the lead in to their bye week. We actually showed Obby the rushing stats on a phone and he had no idea just how big the rushing yards were. The next morning at the airport I was in line behind Mike Kelly going through security. Great memories! Mark F 1

Fred Reid was fast, no question, but he needed room to make things happen. Charlie made things happen on his own...with or without blocking. The kid was magic. Fred was a beauty, though...wish his career had been longer. wbbfan 1
Mark F Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Oh man we owned Javier Glatt so bad all game. Open up a dictionary, look at "chase position," you'll see a picture of Glatt. Istanbul eh? interesting place. you are probably the only human being in the world that watched a Blue bomber game in Instanbul.
rebusrankin Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 That Reid game was great. The comeback on Thanksgiving with the Printers meltdown too. Oh and the comeback against Calgary in 02 with Incompleterson getting a TD and taunting before we shut him up.
17to85 Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Reid was basically the non **** head version of Kenton Thief. Give him some room and he'd go for a lot of yards, if it was tough going though he didn't have the ability to make something out of nothing. Really good player though.
Brandon Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 My memory is bad... why was Brink starting over Jyles? Jyles definitely had some good arm strength and touch on those td passes....
BomberBall Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 My memory is bad... why was Brink starting over Jyles? Jyles definitely had some good arm strength and touch on those td passes.... Pretty sure Jyles was new to us at that point.
IC Khari Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Jyles was the backup to Pierce (we got him as a FA from Sask in Lapo's first season, 2010). Things had gone seriously south with our offence by this point that's my only explaination as to why Brink was starting
17to85 Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Cause Jyles sucked. Sure he was good in that game, but overall he wasn't getting the job done. Too quick to tuck and run and it led to a lot of 2 and outs. Same reason he didn't make it in the league in the long run. Just not good enough despite having some good physical tools.
