Mr. Perfect Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 Bob Irving @BobIrvingCJOB 2m2 minutes ago Bomber quarterback Robert marve done for the year with knee injury
Logan007 Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 Wait...but wasn't he the QB of the future?
sweep the leg Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 His career as a Bomber is over. Goalie 1
gbill2004 Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 @TroyWestwood: Real shame re Marve and that knee. Gotta figure a real good chance not only season but also pro career is done.
peggars Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 feel bad for the guy never want to see a result like this but the silver lining is the tandem of Nichols and Willy gives us more Qb stability than we have had in a lonngggggg time

But we have a huge advantage in resigning him which i hope walters does
Floyd Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 How about let's wait and see Nichols play before signing the cheque... Noeller, ediger and iso_55 3
gbill2004 Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 Nichols wants to start. Depending on what happens in Montreal, BC, Ottawa, and maybe even Sask, I could see each of those teams showing interest in Nichols.
kelownabomberfan Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 A big key to keeping Nichols - getting him an OC who can produce a game plan that doesn't involve killing the QB. Tracker, Blue-urns, ddanger and 5 others 8
SPuDS Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 shame but if anyone really didnt see this coming...they clued out.. shame mos didnt keep him out to save his knee after he tweaked it.. what was oshea thinking?!? lol.
Brandon Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 Sucks for Marve, another lesson learned for the Blue. No more signing guys with a history of injuries. Tracker 1
blueingreenland Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 Feel real bad for the guy. He must be devastated. His career probably over. Not too many teams in any league would be willing to take a chance on this guy... ddanger and Mark F 2
17to85 Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 with knees like that it appears that maybe football isn't his thing.
Westy Sucks Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 Hmmmm so Marve hurt his Knee again. 4th time? He's done. I doubt we see him back here next year.
saskbluefan Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 Nichols wants to start. Depending on what happens in Montreal, BC, Ottawa, and maybe even Sask, I could see each of those teams showing interest in Nichols. With our O Line and Matt's history I could also see Nichols being out for the season with a knee injury about 17 seconds into the first quarter on Saturday. Mark F and Judd 2

Fatty Liver Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 If I'm not mistaken I believe this is the 4th time a Bomber QB has been injured this season on a questionable hit that went un-penalized by the officials. Twice they have later confessed that they got the call wrong and fined the offending player. On the Marve hit they used a ridiculous technicality to nullify a dangerous low hit. The refs. have no clue when it comes to enforcing the "spirit" of the rule, which is to protect QB's from harm. Can't recall who it was but last weekend a QB took a helmet to the chin and was checking for missing teeth, while the official looking on did nothing. With each passing week the games seem to be getting worse as we witness inexperienced 2nd and 3rd string QB's compete at futility. At some point this epidemic of QB injuries is going to harm the leagues bottom line and maybe then they will take it seriously. Floyd, kelownabomberfan, Jesse and 5 others 8

Not saying its a slam dunk or anything, but I disagree with you. I'd say there's definitely a real chance.
Mark F Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 great post so long bannatyne….. makes a lot of sense to me.

Same old CFL... crow about a bunch of rule changes, tighter reffing and protecting the QBs... call shitty games for the first quarter of the season with way too many flags and then the league will talk to them about speeding up the games and they just start calling random penalties They'll get another talking to and revert to 30 flags per game for the last quarter of the season
basslicker Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 Hmmmm so Marve hurt his Knee again. 4th time? He's done. I doubt we see him back here next year. Yup. Tis the end of the road. Too bad.
Mr. Perfect Posted September 10, 2015 Author Report Posted September 10, 2015 At some point this epidemic of QB injuries is going to harm the leagues bottom line and maybe then they will take it seriously. You could make the argument it already has as both TV numbers and league wide attendance are down this year.
rebusrankin Posted September 10, 2015 Report Posted September 10, 2015 Shame about Marve. Mr. P is bang on with his comments.

Not saying its a slam dunk or anything, but I disagree with you. I'd say there's definitely a real chance. Willy, BLM, Collaros, Ray, Cato, Crompton, Reilly, and Harris are 8 QB's who are unquestionably better than Nichols - then there's other guys like Lulay, Durant, Glenn, Franklin, Brett Smith, Drew Tate and possibly Burris hanging around. That's 15 Quarterbacks I'd take over Nichols - don't see how he gets a starting job even if guys like Durant can't recover and Burris calls it quits.
