Goalie Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Chris Thorburn and Paul Postma have also been traded to Carolina for a 6th round pick in 2018 Nah... but one could hope. Ducky 1
FrostyWinnipeg Posted September 24, 2015 Author Report Posted September 24, 2015 Chris Thorburn and Paul Postma have also been traded to Carolina for a 6th round pick in 2018 Nah... but one could hope. Seemed low anyway.
Goalie Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 NAh, Postma is basically a plug that for some reason Jets fans have over rated, he's not good... and Thorburn is a waste of a roster spot in todays NHL.. maybe a 5th round pick at most.

Postma would get more than a 5th round pick on his own.
Goalie Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 No he wouldn't... Jay Harrison got like a 6th round pick. Postma is not good, he wouldn't get much at all. People need to stop over valuing Postma, jets could put him on waivers today and he'd clear it..guaranteed. He's not good. Not sure why some people constantly over rate our players like that.
The Unknown Poster Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Disagree. Still fairly young. 6'3" 200lb puck moving D man. He'd be playing for the Jets if our RHD wasnt so deep.
Atomic Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Not sure what Postma would draw on the trade market but the Harrison comparison is irrelevant considering the wide gap in age, playing style, experience, and contract status.
Goalie Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Postma would get probably something similar to Postma... a guy who has shown some potential but hasn't reached it or even come close to reaching it, maybe a guy who is hyped by that teams fan base like Postma is by ours... Postma is good depth... that's about it. If he's in your top 6, you got some issues for sure. I like Postma but... his value isn't that high at all... I wish i could think of a player similar to him but i can't cuz all those guys are down in the AHL probably.
bustamente Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 You'd be surprised that there are teams that would trade for Thorbs as a 13th forward and character guy. As for Postma he would get a least a 5th probably at little better to the right team.
The Unknown Poster Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Here's a comparable: Alex Goligoski 5'11 185lbs 30 years old Bounced around the baby pens and Pens for a few years. Puck moving D man who had 37 and 31 points at 25-ish years old, traded to the Dallas Stars for Neal and Niskanen. He has better stats than Postma (though Postma had similar if nor better AHL stats in limited action), Postma is bigger and younger.

Goalie Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Another player who was over rated, probably won't even be on Colorados big club this year... massively over rated.
The Unknown Poster Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Slicing his leg open might have hindered his career a bit.
Goalie Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 It hasn't really affected his on ice play... he's just another depth guy.. like postma.
bustamente Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Redmond really is a career minor league player, Colorado just had a lot of problems on their d last year, Postma is a much better player in my opinion.
saskbluefan Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Postma would get probably something similar to Postma... a guy who has shown some potential but hasn't reached it or even come close to reaching it, maybe a guy who is hyped by that teams fan base like Postma is by ours... Goalie Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 I like him but that doesn't mean he's more than just depth. Whether you like a player or not is irrelevant.
Ducky Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 If Postma played how Maurice wanted him to, he might see more time. He is a puck moving RHD behind 3 RHD that are waaaaaaaay better than him. Goalie 1
