Bigblue204 Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Too bad when your body forces you to retire before you want to. But that's life I guess. Good luck to him. ALuCsRED and SPuDS 2
IC Khari Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Hoping he has a Mmmmmmmmarvelous retirement. SPuDS and Mark F 2
HardCoreBlue Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Good luck to him in his post-football career. Have to look out for your health when you can. Yes health #1 as well as good for him in recognizing the importance of knowing football isn't forever. SPuDS and ALuCsRED 2
Tracker Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Even factoring in youthful enthusiasm, you have to question Marve's common sense in trying for a pro football career with knee problems as bad as his were and probably still still are. Personally, I would rather be able to walk around pain-free and be able to squat on a throne than risk fully destroying my knee(s) playing or trying to play for a minor league for peanuts.
Fatty Liver Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Sad. Was it confirmed that the injury was related to previous knee operations?
Brandon Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 It was somewhat inevitable and so many people called it when they first signed the guy. Hopefully in the future they will go after younger qbs who are healthy... SPuDS 1
Noeller Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Amazing how fast he's gone from people around here talking about him being the future of the league, to being retired....unreal. SPuDS 1

bearpants Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Good for him... it must be hard for a 26 year old to admit that his body can't keep up with his dream... SPuDS 1
johnzo Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Good luck to him. He's leaving us with a couple unforgettable highlights.

I pegged him as a good car salesman.....at least better than Dominick Picard.

I would guess this job opportunity may have had a stronger affect on his decision than the injuries... either way, all the best to him...
