blueandgoldguy Posted October 23, 2015 Author Report Posted October 23, 2015 I was at a conference yesterday held at IGF. The whole thing was set up pretty darn nicely by the Bomber folks - so kudos on that front. Wade spoke to the crowd of a couple hundred at lunch and talked about how they are really trying to (re)connect with the business community. He asked all those with Grey Cup tickets to stand - pretty sad to see no more than 2 or 3 people standing. I think the tickets are over priced. They needed the team to be playing well to be selling the tickets at those prices. I suspected this nearly a year ago when ticket prices were announced. Miller and the organizing committee learned nothing from Vancouver last year.
blueandgoldguy Posted October 23, 2015 Author Report Posted October 23, 2015 Half time show? Remember the Western Hour from the 80s? How about getting the host of that show for the halftime.

iso_55 Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Joey must be in his 70's now... His fans are all hipsters as in hip replacements. I can relate... LOL!
WBBFanWest Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Half time show? Remember the Western Hour from the 80s? How about getting the host of that show for the halftime. Are you talking about Russ Gurr?
Brandon Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 I'm not going because it will be freezing cold , tickets are over priced and no teams that I care will be playing. Push the season back a month and lower the price and I would of gone.
Goalie Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 The average winter temp this year Is rumored to be plus 3. It won't be cold. Wouldn't be surprised if there Is no snow. If plus 3 is cold to a resident of winnipeg I suggest you grow some balls SPuDS, Westy Sucks and Mark F 3
Adrenaline_x Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Instructions not clear. I have my balls pulled out of my pants. FrostyWinnipeg Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Half time show? Remember the Western Hour from the 80s? How about getting the host of that show for the halftime. Thought he died. BTO is my pick.

If plus 3 is cold to a resident of winnipeg I suggest you grow some balls I froze my ass off watching a beer can flying towards the Rocket. At plus 3/ the temp is OK, the price and the lack of giving a **** on the teams are bigger factors. Zero interest in the cfl this season. Goalie 1
FrostyWinnipeg Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 1st Grey Cup - last Sunday - record cold - 51k+ 2nd Grey Cup - next to last Sunday - record warm - 34k+ lowest since 75 and currently lowest in the last 40 years 3rd Grey Cup - next to last Sunday - above normal - 44k+ 4th Grey Cup - last sunday - TBD - 38k+ The first Grey Cup scared off a large number of people and the fact the tickets were now $100+ killed the 2nd one.
iso_55 Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 Bring back the 90's with Luba Everytime I see the Grey Cup ticket prices I cry. Oh, I cry.
bigg jay Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 Update on ticket sales: Bob Irving @BobIrvingCJOB Bombers have now sold 32,054 grey cup tickets, getting closer to a sellout. Noeller 1
wookie Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 the bombers will make some cash at that level, which is good to see Noeller 1
FrostyWinnipeg Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 Update on ticket sales: Bob Irving @BobIrvingCJOB Bombers have now sold 32,054 grey cup tickets, getting closer to a sellout. That's less then what was previously estimated i believe.
FrostyWinnipeg Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 the bombers will make some cash at that level, which is good to see I doubt it but we'll see. This is the Bombers we are talking about.
bustamente Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 They won't make the money they thought that they would and that's going t hurt the bottom line. This team will be going hat in hand to the provincial government in the coming years if things don't change.
DR. CFL Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 You wonder if having to reduce the seating capacity will impact the possibility of hosting future Cups?
DR. CFL Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 Why is Wiecek tweeting still 4,000 tickets available?
TrueBlue Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 Why is Wiecek tweeting still 4,000 tickets available? Because that's what it is. This place will hold just over 36,000 on the 29th.
wookie Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 they had 35,156 for the rider game, which i think was a sell out or very close to it so they are short , 3,100 tickets at about $ 200 each say about $600,000 k so they should make close to 3.5 mil, which will be still great, but not 5 mil and if the y sell the balance , they will do well
DR. CFL Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 What did they have to pay the CFL to get the game?
bustamente Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 What did they have to pay the CFL to get the game? 4.3 million
