Captain Blue Posted October 7, 2015 Report Posted October 7, 2015 Get the feeling Castillo will be kicking FGs this week and Lirim will be punting. Lirim has been arguably worse at punting than place kicking this year. They shouldn't have confidence he can do either spot right now. What?? He's been one of the best (if not THE BEST) directional punters in the league, bar none! I guess we'll just reach a stalemate then. Too often he's putting the ball down the middle of the field and making it easier on the return team.
DR. CFL Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Passport? They have added an additional DI so you can choose to have a DI that might make 2 or 3 tackles a game or one that can either potentially score 12-18 points or contribute to controlling field position. Who has more true value in a game?
bearpants Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Lirim does kick a line-drive kind of kick more often than not. Lirim has been kicking nice directional balls, this year, close to the end zone, when the O gives him the opportunity. He does not kick the ball down the middle of the field, although he has done it on occasion. Lirim, usually, does have good kickoffs. Lirim can kick the snot out of the ball, when he is allowed. Place kicking has been reliable, so therefore, the recent game leads me to believe Edmonton had access to our supply of balls and Eskimoed them. He's got a hell of a leg... kicking and punting... no denying that... it's the accuracy that needs work...

Just takes a punch like Betty White.
wookie Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 i bet we have Lirim do the punting this week and Sergio doing kickoffs and place kicking,

gbill2004 Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 According to Twitter, Sergio Castillo has been activated so I expect he will play this week. SPuDS 1

bigg jay Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Lawless is saying Lirim will probably still handle the punting but Castillo will do the place kicking.
WBBFanWest Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Rumor has it that Lirim is punting and Sergio is placekicking. Remember you heard it here first! Noeller, bearpants and comedygeek 3

do or die Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 So, missing 4 FG and convert in a one point loss actually has consequences? Good. One can only dole out so many hugs....... iso_55 1
bb1 Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Well the latest from twitter is Castillo starting and Lirim taking a breather. Not going to bash MOS on this tough decision ethier way.
Noeller Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Well, I heard today that Castillo is kickoffs and field goals and Larry Arugala is punting..........just in case nobody posted yet...... #WorshipMe #Connected #BestFan #BetterThanYou #HashtagsOnMBB SPuDS, WBBFanWest, johnzo and 1 other 4
M.O.A.B. Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Looks like both will be on the 44. Lirim will do punting and kick-offs. Sergio will do the FGs. Sergio will come to the 44 at the expense of Cone. Bastien will start.

DR. CFL Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Need to make some determination what do do with LH a pending FA....should he stay or should he go?
SPuDS Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Need to make some determination what do do with LH a pending FA....should he stay or should he go? He stays. No question about it in my mind, hell he will even come cheaper now.

Agreed as well - he's struggling right now and I'd put that to the 'sophomore jinx'. He proved last year he's a fine kicker. Maybe if we can find a punter that will allow LIram to concentrate just on the place kicking aspect - he seemed to be doing very well when Renaud was around to punt. SPuDS 1

Yea we ought to draft a canuck punter I think in a later round.. See if we can tandem it again like in the cameron and westwood days.
JohnnyOnTheSpot Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 He's had a contract offer on the table all season that he doesn't want to sign. He'll go to free agency and likely be gone. I won't miss him.
blitzmore Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 He punts the ball down the middle of the field and out kicks the cover team affording the returners too much time and space to find a seam. Every kicker does that from time to time, based on wind conditions, snap, rush etc.
