Mike Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Big Country! I like Farmer and Catalon ... both really intriguing guys. Don't know anything about Davis.

Jpan85 Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 I got a feeling one or two of these guys will be around again. Catalon looks like the perfect CFL back.
Tracker Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Davis looks to be a real long-shot to make the team. Not particularly big (5'7") and quick but not a burner. Seems to be a leader and smart but will probably be an also-ran.
WBBFanWest Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 So some people are thinking that it's a bad thing to bring in people, give them a look, and if they aren't what we're looking for, release them and move on? Personally, I like the approach because at the very least it gives us a jump on TC next year. Hopefully, we'll find some players that we want to invite back next year and we'll avoid ones that we've already seen and found wanting. And who knows we might even find a keeper or two in the meantime. SPuDS, comedygeek, ddanger and 3 others 6

Mark F Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Next week, after they drop spencer, they should sign Jeff Beck, or Jimi Page. Either would be a good additions since they are both very heavy.

bigg jay Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 I've got no problem with the quick looks. It's like a mini-camp or the free agent tryouts they put on. If they don't show something, you don't waste a spot or time on them & move on to the next guy. Geebrr 1
17to85 Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 People should be looking at these moves as an audition for next years training camp rather than immediate help. The days of bringing a bunch of NFL cuts up for immediate help at the end of the season are over. SPuDS and Geebrr 2
bustamente Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Never know when you'll find a gem, keep bringing them in until you find one Geebrr, SPuDS and rebusrankin 3
do or die Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 No, no....you bring in a very limited number of players for a look....... because there are very few variables to consider, when evaluating talent..... Geebrr 1
rebusrankin Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 How is Catalon at running right into the middle of the field?
M.O.A.B. Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 BJ Catalon runs alot like CJ Gable. James and IC Khari 2
IC Khari Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 No prob whatsoever with bringing players in for a looksee, no matter what time in the season. Cal Murphy did that all the time and unearthed quite a few gems (I believe Greg Battle arrived that way). What is the harm? Seriously? Geebrr 1

Actually quite the opposite.....because they're constantly working to upgrade, and not just sitting on "Ehhh, good enough....." Really? How many of these revolving door guys is on the roster right now? It is one thing to continue to bring in people but if it not producing anything of note then, well ... I would totally agree with you if there was evidence that it was producing results but like the rest of what this regime is doing there just isn't any evidence to back up all this faith people have in them. This is a 5-11 team that is only in the hunt for a play-off spot because there are equally crappy teams losing around them.

It is not and therefore those responsible should be up for review before continuing their employment. Why pay people for not fulfilling their job duties?
