FrostyWinnipeg Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 Game story so far.... Hutch to start Tonights chant options "No Means No!" and/or "Kane!" End of the big homestand which has not been so fan friendly Don't forget your headdress! http://www.cbc.ca/news/aboriginal/fake-headdresses-won-t-be-banned-winnipeg-jets-1.3292837
GCJenks Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 Will be the first fame I have been too since season 1. Very much looking forward to it. Rich 1
The Unknown Poster Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 Well I hope they dont chant anything offensive like "Rapist, Rapist". "No means No" would get a chuckle.
Ducky Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 Kinda classless if it turns out he is innocent, no? We have to keep the shots against down and not take any dumb penalties. Overall, the D has to be stronger too.
FrostyWinnipeg Posted October 29, 2015 Author Report Posted October 29, 2015 Looks like they changed their mind. http://www.cbc.ca/news/aboriginal/winnipeg-jets-owners-change-stance-ban-fake-headdresses-at-games-1.3294991
Mr Dee Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 Looks like they changed their mind. http://www.cbc.ca/news/aboriginal/winnipeg-jets-owners-change-stance-ban-fake-headdresses-at-games-1.3294991 Good on the Wpg. Org. for taking the lead in this area blitzmore 1
Ducky Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 90 seconds and and we are down 1-0 on a PP goal....ouch.
Ducky Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 The Jets really outplayed the Hawks the last 7 or so minutes of the first period. Hutch has been good.
Ducky Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 Good game by Hutch. Bring on the Blue Jackets.
FrostyWinnipeg Posted October 30, 2015 Author Report Posted October 30, 2015 Here comes the goalie debate again.
Goalie Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 Nah. Hutch just owns the Hawks. Pav has been good too. Good exciting game. Refs missed a bunch of calls tho. The knee on Perrault being the most obvious one. Would still love to see petan with guys who have a bit more skill. Guys a playmaker
JimmyFartball Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 Petan should NEVER be sat for Peluso again ... let me put it another way, when it comes to Peluso over Petan, No Means No!
Ducky Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 yup, he needs to see more than 8-9 minutes a game.
Ducky Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 Hutch with a record of 4-0 and a sv% of .949....HOOWAH!
Brandon Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 yup, he needs to see more than 8-9 minutes a game. What 4th liner sees massive minutes in the league? Who are you going to sit to put Petan in?
The Unknown Poster Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 Petan gets more minutes if there are more PP's but I agree he would benefit from more ice time. But it's at a premium on the jets right now. If they felt he really needed more minutes they'd send him to the Moose. So I guess we trust the coaching staff on this one. Id love to see him on a top six line once on a while just to see what he can do. But he's young. His time will come. With Ladd unsigned it's never a bad thing having a guy like Petan ready to move up.
Mark F Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 That was like a play off game. This is the start of the season. There was no letup from start to end of that game. Can't believe they can play at this pace for a whole season. NHL physical conditioning level is very high.
blitzmore Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 Good game by Hutch. Bring on the Blue Jackets. Don't you still want to trade most of the team?
Rich Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 The season is early and (knock on wood) the Jets haven't had any injuries yet. Petan will get his chance to move up to another line. Just have to be patient.
Goalie Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 2 and 1 vs the Central so far is a good thing.
GCJenks Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 Other than Wheeler's scoring streak is there something up with him? It seemed to me that he was moving a little slow and usually the first of his line to peel off and head for the bench. Is he nursing something that no one is talking about? Conditioning a little behind the pace of the game? Just checked his ice time stats and he was right between Ladd and Little so maybe he wasn't short shifting but it sure seemed like it to me.
Mr Dee Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 Jets 32 hits to Blackhawks 15, face offs 38-33 Jets, Giveaways - Jets were way down from last game (23), only 8 to 13 for Chicago. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they said 45 saves for Hutch was a career high..stoned Hossa several times. Great job by Lowry on Toews. Agree with Mark F on the pace of the game...after 10 games. Only a few more to keep up for the season... Despite the Jets' great start, they are 5th in the Central division and only 1 point ahead of...the Blackhawks in the Wildcard race. Maybe they can cross over to the East Conference... Mark F 1
The Unknown Poster Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 I havent watched the game yet. Have it on the PVR. Regarding Wheeler, he seems to play very hard every shift so maybe he's just being overly responsible if you noticed him scooting to the bench quickly. I hope we dont have too many playable injuries this early but as others have said, what a tough pace to keep up all season.
FrostyWinnipeg Posted October 30, 2015 Author Report Posted October 30, 2015 After 10 games... 2015-16 6-3-1 2014-15 4-5-1 2013-14 4-5-1 Atomic, GCJenks and Mark F 3
Goalie Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 TUP is right about Wheeler, he's not injured, he just takes shorter shifts cuz he goes all out... Maurice actually was talking about it the other day a bit... saying Blake has found what works for him, so he can go all out on every shift, what works for him is taking shorter shifts.
