Ottawa is a second year club that is likely to finish first in the east. Edmonton is first in the west and they won 4 games two years ago. Two years is a couple is it not? Is Forde making excuses or just ignorant?

Well would Ottawa have been finishing first in the east if Toronto or Hamilton hadn't had the injuries they did? Ottawa's key to success this year was being the only team to stay healthy at qb and offensive line. Makes a huge ******* difference.
Excuses and stats are for losers.

Reasons not excuses. You'd have to be some kind of stupid not to recognize the huge advantage that being the healthiest team imparts. If you don't have to test the depth of your team it's an advantage. Calgary's season is impressive because they over came a lot of injuries, Edmonton over came a bunch of injuries that's impressive, Ottawa remained healthy and I ain't impressed by it.

I think the summary of your post was 'everyone has injuries' yet somehow that's the reason Ottawa was good and we sucked. Brilliant.

The health factor is one thing....  the coaching and roster management was simply much better.

Ottawa dumped their scraps...  Chevon Walker and Jasper Simmons... while we took on these scraps who showed just as little if not less then what they had shown before.

A huge issue I have is that we can't recruit for crap.

I really hope Walters leaves. The Bombers remind me of an ice jam on a river. Everything is clogged up behind it. Walters goes & then it's blown up. the head coach & scouting dept is reassessed. If Walters leaves it's not status quo anymore. If a new GM comes in, he's not loyal to O'Shea as he didn't hire him. Then we know there'll more than likely be changes.#fingerscrossed

I just don't know how the Bombers can sell a 5-13 season to the fanbase & expect that next season we'll go 11-7 or 12-6 with a playoff spot. It won't happen.

My guess is they will rely on Willy to play most of the games in order to get to .500 next year.  Who knows?  Maybe that will actually happen with a new OC in charge.

You guys are making it too complicated. Ottawa has done really well this year. BUT

Ottawa would be fighting for a playoff spot without Burris's heroics this year.

That cannot even be disputed.

Best receivers in the league, great O & D lines, they can run the ball, sack the QB, the Lemon addition has been huge, kicking is solid, they are a balanced team, give credit where it is due.

This. They have a very talented team. It's easy to be petty and say they had an easier go on the injury front but they're a better football team from safety to halfback

Nobody is saying otherwise, but so does Hamilton have a great team, but they have been reduced to what? Without whom again?

It all starts at QB. No doubt.

So because Hamilton has burst into flames that some how proves what? Edmonton did fine without O'Reilly, Calgary did fine without Bo Levi, BC was no better or worse without Lulay. Would Winnipeg be better with Willy?? Of course. But the rest of the team, sans QB, it's not even close. Our team is garbage from coaching to players. And Ottawa had to start from 0, and they're 1 win away from a Grey Cup appearance. 2 wins and they'll do in 2 years what we can't do in 25.

if that isn't making you're blood boil as a bomber fan you've probably -and rightfully- given up for your health.

btw, Drew Willys winning % for games he's started isn't something to brag about it. It actually kind of sucks.

That without a reliable backup QB, you're hooped?

Edmonton did fine without O'Reilly,

Meet Matt Nichols - reliable backup QB

When were they without BLM this year?

The topic is Ottawa.

Because you're mad at the Bombers, you're arguing Ottawa wouldn't have suffered without Burris?

That's a turn off the highway.

Maybe you're onto something there. I'm starting to wonder if some of these people really are Bomber fans. BTW, the rest of your post is bang-on.

K, wait. Because we chose to rationalize why feel what went wrong where and not leap to baseless conclusions, we are not actual fans?

The ones not giving up hope, continuing to cheer them on and never saying we quit on them... Are not the fans?

Just curious but do you reside in bizarro world or something?

No way a GM sticks with a coach from a past regime why would you stick with someone who was hired by someone else? You bring in who you trust.Unless we hire a new GM from within like maybe promote bellfoole.

I've seen it happen when a GM leaves and a popular coach remains, but usually that is a token gesture by the new GM to leave the old coach in place for a year, but it is rare for the old coach to hang around longer than that.
