What's really amazing is how quickly Westerman shook off the rust. How long had it been since he'd played a meaningful game? Like 2 years or something, right? And he took camp and a few weeks of games to get game-ready and BAM.....our best player by a mile last year.

thats very true.  it didn't take him long at all to get up to game speed and become an impact.

It was absurd...no question. ******* reporters always go with the fancy offensive stats, plus they got caught up in the storyline Ottawa having a decent season 2...

A) A local guy from a town 30 minutes north of Kelowna.

B)) A cousin of Grissly Adams, ergo relevant to any team with Bear Woods in the lineup.

C) A QB to be signed by Montreal to bring their number back up to 8 QBs in camp...so far.

I wonder how Adams feels about this turnabout..dealing with Wally B., only to be dealt à Montréal.

The BC Lions Football Club announced this afternoon that they have traded the negotiation rights to international quarterback Vernon Adams to the Montreal Alouettes in exchange for Montreal’s first round selection in the 2017 CFL Draft.

download (2)“Both sides negotiated in good faith, but in the end it became clear that we weren’t going to be able to meet Vernon’s expectations as they relate to length of contract and remuneration,” said Wally Buono. “We’ve got very good depth at the quarterback position so being able to turn this asset into a first-round pick in next year’s CFL Draft is a win for the Lions.”

The Lions open mini-camp in Kamloops Thursday, May 26th.

Not just a 1st rounder, but a most likely 1st overall pick

Popp has lost his mind, not only is he dealing a number one pick for an unproven player, instead of developing the young QB's he has on his roster he replaces them with this years model.  Pretty obvious if it wasn't for Cavillo, he would have lost his job a decade ago.  The strange thing is that Cavillo must be endorsing this plan, a guy who took at least 5 years to develop into the QB he became.

Now is the time to do it. With Kevin Glenn Chucking 'em Popp can afford to wait five years for Adams to develop without  applying too much pressure.
