Goalie Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 Official I suppose now http://www.sportsnet.ca/cis/award-winning-cis-linebacker-rush-signs-with-bombers/ Sounds like one hell of a player
Mr. Perfect Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 Someone fill me in if they don't mind, but how are we (or anyone) able to sign this guy without him going through the draft?
StevetheClub Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 From the article: "The Niagara Falls, Ont., native went unselected in the 2014 CFL Draft largely because he wasn’t back to 100 percent after suffering a freak ACL injury in practice halfway through his 2013 season. That made Rush a free agent and he turned a spectacular final season at Guelph into a pro contract." Mr. Perfect and Blue-urns 2

Mike Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 I don't understand the timeline on things like this. If he's like a "free" draft pick, how did he only get added to a negotiation list two weeks ago. According to the article, he was 2014 eligible, not 2015, which means he's been a free agent for essentially 18 months or so. I think that's a mistake by Dunk though, because Rush attended the regional combine in 2015 and was apparently a draft eligible player at that point. I had heard about this deal a few days ago and I don't understand how it happened, but it's a good pickup for us. TrueBlue 1
Mr Dee Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 Its always good to sign an impact player from the CIS especially one who is highly regarded. It's even better when you spend nothing for him. Is this a Walters-Guelph connection signing? Does this mean our MLB position is staying as it was? That is...NI driven So many NI LB types being signed... But does it really matter I guess, as long as they can play football.
M.O.A.B. Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 I just hope this signing means we are moving Hurl or at least reconstruct his 6-digit contract. Another LB that I wish the Bombers will pursue (if he becomes freeagent) is Thomas Miles.

Fatty Liver Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 Looks like a good ST addition if nothing else.
Stickem Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 With a name like Rush how can we miss...Looks like a nice prospect.... Bigblue204 1
rebusrankin Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 Hopefully he's a good one. Too bad he's not a running back. Mark F 1
Mark F Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 definitely should be moved to running back.
Mr Dee Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 definitely should be moved to running back. Not to end? I heard we need one. Mark F 1
WBBFanWest Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 Rush looks like a new world man to me. johnzo 1
pigseye Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 Strange the way he just fell off the radar until now.
bustamente Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 If we are lucky he will be as good as the 2010 CIS president trophy award winner who signed with montreal
MOBomberFan Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 Strange the way he just fell off the radar until now. The benefit of having a GM who is 'in tune' with the CIS? SPuDS and Mr Dee 2
Blueballz Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 Can never have enough options that are national, always keep looking. Never know who might end up surprising you.
Mr Dee Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 Strange the way he just fell off the radar until now.The benefit of having a GM who is 'in tune' with the CIS? Also, he was busy with his own playoffs until Guelph was eliminated on Nov. 21st
IC Khari Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 Strange the way he just fell off the radar until now.The benefit of having a GM who is 'in tune' with the CIS? It's obviously benefited us in the past ...
GCn20 Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 Good signing....he came for free. At the end of the day I don't expect much from him though. Hopefully, he can add depth or make the PR.
Jpan85 Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 Looking at the roster looks like they brought back punter Billy Pavopoulous Bombers add National linebacker John Rush and National kicker Billy Pavlopoulos. >> https://t.co/QetrPeWIiK pic.twitter.com/Q4mpxxWU9V — Blue Bombers (@Wpg_BlueBombers) December 1, 2015
IC Khari Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 Cool, another national LB prospect with long hair
Mr Dee Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 Do we actively seek kicker/punters with 5 or 6 syllables in their name? IC Khari 1
