Demond is a solid player. I could take him or leave him, but I would like to see a better player in camp before I decided he is expendable. The Bombers should make an effort to re-sign him, especially since our scouting should not be relied upon to improve us at his position.

And therein lies the problem, rarely is a guy sitting waiting to be "that guy".

.....Yeah tearing it up after they sent him to an eye doctor...He had a vision problem and we didn't pick up on it...Edmonton did...He still gets the dropsies but not as often,,,Maybe we can turn up a Rogers but the way our scouting organization is working, that's a stretch..

The vision problem was well-known and dealt with before he was a Bomber.

Lapolice simply couldn't figure out how to use him.  There's 9 routes on the route tree, Bowman struggled tracking the ball with 2 of them running to the boundary.  Lapolice insisted on running him on those routes, shattering his confidence and making him look like an idiot.  He was an absolute monster on every route coming into the field and continues to be.  I'd put the chances of Bowman signing with a team having Lapolice designing and calling the plays at less than zero.  The guy nearly killed his pro career.

The vision problem was revisited when he went to the Eskies. He had a 2nd eye surgery that according to Bowman himself, greatly increased his ability to track the ball in the air. This is well documented and there are several articles about it in the Edmonton media. The receiver he was here was a one trick pony. In Edmonton, they were able to get him to run the full route tree after his surgery and the results are self evident. Our training staff dropped the ball on Bowman, not Lapolice.

Nik Lewis called out Bowman on twitter for this.  He didn't mention him by name but basically said guys who who have 20+ drops (Bowman had 21 by early September) shouldn't be all-stars & the only reason he had so many yards is because he gets thrown to a ton.

Bowman still puts a pile of balls on the ground, he just gets thrown to a million times a game so he pads his stats.

Yup. If he wasnt thrown to as often as he is, i think his drops stand out more.

Bowman.  2 years. 505 000 total dollars b4 bonuses. That would make him the highest paid receiver in the league.

This is insane to me. He's talented and makes your team better even with the drops factored in, but shizzzz....

Sorry, but you don't get to be the leading receiver in the league by just "padding your stats". The guy has become a game changer that you must account for. Not giving him the credit he deserves for his play the last few years is ignorant at best.

Yup, he's drops the ball. But if you can be a top receiver even after all drops, what does it matter?

That's a crazy amount to pay for an import receiver, this is going to cause salary repercussions.  Are there any other receivers in the league earning $200,000+?

Big middle finger in the face to Chris Jones who probably thought he'd have an inside track on Sewell & Bowman had they remained free agents. if Jones thought he could cut 21 players & just replace them with top CFL free agents well think twice, Chris. Like it's been said, most of the top FA's will be locked up by their teams come Feb 9th. The Stamps signed DT Junior Turner yesterday & CB Joe Burnett today.

I suppose Dressler as well and maybe one or two of the RB's receivers like Chris Williams....not one of them earned their big pay cheques last year.  It would be interesting to know what Manny A. recently signed for.

I think it was in the Western Final where they said that Chris Jones felt that Micah Johnson (93) was Calgary's top defender.
