iso_55 Posted December 5, 2015 Report Posted December 5, 2015 Just saw this & so far no local media outlet in Calgary has jumped on it & I'm not surprised. If this was the NHL there'd be columns already posted at the Calgary Herald & Sun. Former Stamps running back Willie Burden #10 has passed away. http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/college/acc/nc-state/article48083700.html Mark F 1
blueingreenland Posted December 5, 2015 Report Posted December 5, 2015 He was a good one. My condolences to the family...
Fatty Liver Posted December 5, 2015 Report Posted December 5, 2015 That's too bad, Willie was a great RB. I have to wonder if his premature death had anything to do with concussions.

I don't think so. He was on the waiting list for a heart transplant according to a story that ran in the Calgary Herald Sepember 2nd.
Dragon37 Posted December 5, 2015 Report Posted December 5, 2015 He was one of the good ones. RIP Willie
IC Khari Posted December 6, 2015 Report Posted December 6, 2015 Really sad, Burden was one of the all-time greats IMO. Still relatively young. Condolences to his family.
iso_55 Posted December 6, 2015 Author Report Posted December 6, 2015 George Hopkins the Stamps Equipment Manager who's been with the team since the 70's said Willie was the nicest player he ever met. Polite, always smiling. He said he met a few low life players in his time that came & went along with the greats but Burden was the best.
JohnnyOnTheSpot Posted December 6, 2015 Report Posted December 6, 2015 To this day no running back has dominated like he did in 75. Unstoppable and unforgettable. Very sad to hear of his passing.
