TrueBlue Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 The weeks after Christmas/New Years are quite possibly the slowest around these parts since transactions are fewer and far between. Not to mention a lot of people are dialed into the NFL postseason. So I thought it would be fun/interesting/stupid to get a thread going where we simply rank the 2015 QBs who had playing time last season based on our own opinion of who we'd want on our team. No need to give reasons for your rankings, but be prepared to defend any of them if questioned by another member. The only rule is that you must rank ALL of them. Let's keep this fun and light-hearted and see where it goes. Here's the list based on their 2015 passing yardage: Henry Burris Bo Levi Mitchell Trevor Harris Zach Collaros Matt Nichols Kevin Glenn Mike Reilly Rakeem Cato Jonathan Jennings Travis Lulay Brett Smith Jeff Mathews Drew Willy James Franklin John Beck Brian Brohm Ricky Ray Keith Price Robert Marve Jonathan Crompton Tanner Marsh Drew Tate Brandon Bridge Tino Sunseri Anthony Boone Dominique Davis Darian Durant Jacory Harris Jeremiah Masoli Danny O'Brien Mitchell Gale Bryant Moniz Greg McGhee Jordan Lynch Adrian MacPherson Thomas DeMarco Dan LeFevour
TrueBlue Posted January 6, 2016 Author Report Posted January 6, 2016 I should clarify that we are ranking them based on what you feel is their current stock value in the league, not just career performance.
BigBlue Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 My Top 12 1. Zach Collaros 2. Bo Levi Mitchell 3. Mike Reilly 4. Henry Burris 5. Ricky Ray 6. Trevor Harris 7. Drew Willy 8. Drew Tate 9. Darian Durant 10. Jonathan Jennings 11. Kevin Glenn 12. Travis Lulay TrueBlue 1
TrueBlue Posted January 6, 2016 Author Report Posted January 6, 2016 Mine is something like this: Zach Collaros Bo Levi Mitchell Mike Reilly Ricky Ray Drew Willy Trevor Harris Henry Burris Darian Durant Jonathan Jennings Kevin Glenn Matt Nichols Jeff Mathews Travis Lulay Jonathan Crompton James Franklin Drew Tate Brett Smith Rakeem Cato Jeremiah Masoli Jordan Lynch John Beck Danny O'Brien Dan LeFevour Thomas DeMarco Mitchell Gale Adrian MacPherson Jacory Harris Brandon Bridge Dominique Davis Keith Price Brian Brohm Bryant Moniz Anthony Boone Greg McGhee Tino Sunseri Tanner Marsh Logan007 1

Take a stab and try and rank the rest...

Goalie Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 1. Mitchell - just because he's durable and good 2. Collaros - Injury issues with this guy for sure but definitely a very good player 3. Reilly- as a QB? not so much but he's a winner, he wins. Honestly, If i'm ranking them in terms of QB play alone, i'm not sure Reilly is this high 4. Willy - Yup. Gonna put him top 5. Only because he made chicken salad out of chicken crap, sure he's got injury concerns 2 but.. He has a bright future 5. Harris - Don't see the hype with him, don't think he's better than any of the top 4 but... he's young and has upside, however his contract demands seem a little ridiculous for a guy who has proven nothing 6. Jennings - Do we see a them here? It's all the young guys first, guys with futures 7. Ray - based on his history and only his history cuz i'm not sure how much more time he has in the CFL 8. Hank/Henry/Frank - See Ray. He ain't getting any younger The rest?? Basically, I'd put Glenn and Tate in the same group, I'd put Nichols in the group below them. Lulay if healthy is 9 on my list but... and the Rest outside of Masoli... They are guys i could easily see gone from the CFL in a couple weeks. Basically, You got your starters, you got your back up and most teams don't have that solid back up actually... and then you got your guys who get chance after chance after chance (marsh, brohm etc) those types. Bigblue204 Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 1 - mitchell 2 - Collaros 3 - Burris 4 - Willy 5 - Ray 6 - Reilly 7 - Harris 8 - Durain't 9 - Jennings 10- Glenn 11 - Tate 12 - Nichols 13 - lulay 14 - Cato 15- Crompton 16 - Smith 17 - Masoli 18 - Matthews 19 - MacPherson 20 - Lynch
Fatty Liver Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 This is for the past season, right? I know there is a lot of Hank hate out there but you can't OBJECTIVELY look at this past season and rank Drew Willy or a lot of these other QB's ahead of him in performance. Just look at the frickin' numbers, he put on some masterful passing clinics down the stretch and other than Collaros when healthy, Henry had the greatest impact on his team. Maybe that's why he was nominated and won MOP???

Mark H. Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 I don't even recognize all the names in the OP Logan007 1
17to85 Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 People are letting the massive amount of injuries that happened to CFL qbs last season make them play silly buggers with rankings.
Floyd Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 Based on last season CFL QB ratings with half season or more and then the rest plugged in based on games played v. stats Collaros Burris Harris Jennings Mitchell Smith Willy Franklin Cato Glenn Reilly Matthews Nichols

Atomic Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 Collaros Reilly Burris Ray Mitchell Harris Willy Glenn Jennings Cato Tate Mathews Masoli Durant Lulay Nichols Franklin Smith Crompton
AKAChip Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 Collaros Reilly Mitchell Willy Harris Burris Jennings Ray Durant Franklin Cato Tate Glenn Lulay Nichols The group of Crompton, Lefevour, Smith, Mathews and Masoli would all be a better fit pumping gas.
TBURGESS Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 My take: 1. Burris - MOP say no more. 2, Mitchell - Consistent even when everything around him was changing. 3. Collaros - Could have been MOP if he'd stayed healthy 4. Reilly - All he does is win and that's the whole point of the game. 5. Harris - Made the most of his opportunities. 6. Jennings - Young and athletic. Huge upside. 7. Ray - Still throws the best deep ball in the CFL, not sure how much more time he has left. 8. Willy - Injury prone but gets the job done when he's healthy. 9. Glenn - The Rodney Dangerfield of the CFL is still a good QB. 10. Lulay - Not the same since his last injury, but can still get the job done when he's healthy. 11. Franklin - Young and athletic with a big upside. 12. Nichols - Good backup Atomic 1
