Man, it sure seems like a lot of people over-rating Harris. That second half of the season would terrify me if I'm his agent......

He pretty much tanked after his agent said he should be the highest paid QB...

...and with Ray getting paid to start in 2016, we'll see what becomes of ol' TH....but I know I'm not convinced.

For my money, it's an interchangeable list of Reilly, BLM, and Collaros......then Willy (when 100% healthy...rare, but when he is...) and Burris and Ray.....jury's out on what DurINT has left in the tank.

A little late tot he party but...

Zach Collaros

Bo Levi Mitchell

Mike Reilly

Ricky Ray

Henry Burris

Drew Willy

Trevor Harris

Travis Lulay

Darian Durant

Jonathan Jennings

Matt Nichols

Drew Tate

Kevin Glenn

After that... does it really matter?

I guess no one wants to put in the work to rank the rest.  I mean for the most part, the QBs in the top 10-12 will be the same.  Where it could get interesting is in how some people rank the backups.

Posted

There's not a single person on this board qualified to make an accurate ranking of the back-ups, so what's the point? Most people couldn't name half the back ups....

Crazy how everyone has written off Durant because of the achilles but is willing to rate Willy high after the knee injury and concussions and Ray after shoulder and concussions...  I'd stay away from all of them and Lulay if I was building a team

QBs for building a team...

1. BLM - 25 years old, no injury history, worked with 50 different OL last year and survived

2. Collaros - Without the knee injury, he's #1 no contest

3. Burris - Hank keeps on tickin

4. Harris - Looked great, but some questions marks - basically a healthy Drew Willy

5.  Jonathon Jennings - BC QB factory, next up

6.  Reilly/Crompton - competitors that find a way to win

7.  Glenn - he'll win games... and lose them, gives you time to develop someone

8.  Willy/Ray/Durant - rolling the dice

I didn't write off durain't cause of his injuries...though that helped. I've never thought of him as a great qb. I feel he may be one of the more over rated players.

The difference is that Durant basically hasn't played in 2 years now.  Ray and Willy at least have taken significant reps and Ray showed he can still play and is healthy.  Ray has gotta be way higher than Durant at this point.

How come Durant is rated so low? Oh ya it's not 2013 anymore and he has to play the Bombers again (what injury will we cause next?) ;). Same with Ray, it's not 2012 ...

Thing about Ray, tho, is he's one of the best of all time....one of the smartest to ever play the game. Living legend. DurInt doesn't earn the same benefit of doubt.

I`ll give it a go... according to who I would want at QB right now, based on what I think their current value is...

  1. Zach Collaros <-- I thought scrambling QBs were super easy to defend :P
  2. Bo Levi Mitchell <-- 25 yo, undeniably good
  3. Mike Reilly <-- a winner, I like how he plays, guts galore
  4. Trevor Harris <-- IMO he has shown and accomplished more than Willy in half the time (career TD/INT ratio, YPA, making the playoffs, staying healthy... take your pick).
  5. Drew Willy <-- he's not bad. Mr Perfect will probably still tell you he's simply amazing, but I ask you this: has anyone ever seen them both in the same room at the same time??? dun-dun-DUNNNNNN! </dramatic music>
  6. Jonathon Jennings <-- could be the real deal and is only 23 years old... of all the young backups and prospect QBs, he looks to me like the best
  7. Ricky Ray <-- how many years left?
  8. Hank <-- how many years left? Great value Fantas-eh pick, though
  9. James Franklin <-- 25 yo and looked efficient in his rookie year
  10. Travis Lulay <-- potentially one hit away, but then isn't everybody?
  11. Darian Durant <-- maybe deserves more but his recent injury, poor play, and 'general ****-headedness' pushes him out of the top 10
  12. Matt Nichols <-- has shown competence and has lots of CFL experience. He's not the QB I had hoped he was back when he and Reilly were competing for the starters gig in EDM, but he's better than a lot of backups out there.
  13. Kevin Glenn <-- not an auspicious number at all in the CFL... perfect spot for Glenn.
  14. Rakeem Cato <-- had a hard time fitting Cato in... young athletic guy, can run and heave the ball... can he be coached up to elevate his game?
  15. Jeff Matthews <-- is he any good without Luke Tasker on the field? Seriously though, spread the ball around.
  16. Jeremiah Masoli <-- I was a fan and was eager to see him play... flashes of good, streaks of bad
  17. Jordan Lynch <-- hasn't had an opportunity to screw up yet. Good short yardage guy apparently.
  18. Thomas DeMarco <-- might never get to play if robo-Hank keeps it up
  19. Brett Smith <-- is there something there? was he just late to the party on a bad team in the midst of a failed season? Better than Tino, anyways.

    20. through 30. A bunch of other guys including the allegedly promising Dom Davis, the awful Dan LeFevour, and AFL super star Adrian McPherson

    31. A broken JUGS machine

    32. My infant niece

    33. Chicken salad on rye

    34. Casey Printers

    35. Brian Brohm

Marve and Beck don't really make the list as retired QB's aren't worth much on the field.

I'll say one thing .. I'm damn sure Drew Tate is a top 10 qb in this league.

F..... I knew I missed someone, and I certainly agree. I'd put him at 9 and bump Franklin to 10.

OK, let's take a shot...

1. Bo Levi Mitchell - young and great

2. Zach Collaros - see above

3. Mike Reilly - a winner and leader

4. Rick Ray - I think he's too old to be called Ricky

5. Drew Willy - wishful thinking

6. Trevor Harris - hard to say

7. John Jennings - seems to have potential

8. Hank Burris - would be higher if he wasn't 87 years old

9. Kevin Glenn - can still play

10. Drew Tate - good QB, seems to enjoy being a back up

11. Rakeem Cato - still a huge question mark but his pure skills are undeniable

12. Travis Lulay - may have some left in the tank

13. Matt Nichols - good insurance policy

14.  Jeremiah Masoli - seemed to be the only Ham back up that made some plays

15. Brett Smith - potential

16-35. I don't know enough about everyone else on this list to rank them

36. Brian Brohm - easiest ranking of all

OK, let's take a shot...

1. Bo Levi Mitchell - smart, good arm, runs a dynamic offense

2. Zach Collaros - great arm, good variety and rhythm in his drives

3. Mike Reilly - unorthodox, tough, just win baby

4. Ricky Ray - still good if given the weapons, needs solid YAC receivers

5. Hank Burris - as opposed to Frank

6. Drew Willy - sound pocket passer, needs time in the pocket, needs a more effective short game

7. Trevor Harris - potential??

8. Kevin Glenn - can still play, a poor man's Ricky Ray

9. John Jennings

10. Drew Tate - decent QB, inconsistent as a starter

11. Rakeem Cato - see Trevor Harris

12. Travis Lulay - duct tape?

13. Matt Nichols - not a bad backup, cheap currency

14.  Jeremiah Masoli - decent backup, an unfortunate corn oil name

15. Brett Smith

The Rest - throw mud at the wall and hope some of it sticks

y'all are over rating Jennings for a small sample size. Remember when Cato was getting the same treatment? Young qbs need more time to accurately judge them. Yeah he had an impressive run, will it last or was it catching people unawares?

Holy cow, so if Crompton and Reilly were both available you'd sign whoever was cheaper? Is that you Eric Tillman?
