PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Flyers say Rick MacLeish of the 1970s Broad Street Bullies teams has died. He was 66.

The Flyers announced the death in a release on Tuesday. MacLeish was the leading scorer in the playoffs when the Flyers won the Stanley Cup in 1974 and 1975. He scored the Cup winner against the Boston Bruins in 1974.

Ex-Flyers captain Bobby Clarke called MacLeish "the most talented player the Flyers had during the 1970s."

MacLeish had 349 goals and 410 assists for 759 points in 846 NHL games over 14 seasons for the Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Hartford Whalers and Detroit Red Wings.

The native of Cannington, Ontario, had 22 points in the 1974 playoffs to lead Philadelphia and 20 points in the 1975 playoffs as the Flyers went back-to-back.

The Flyers' Alumni Association had recently said MacLeish was battling an illness.

Former NHL all-star Tom Lysiak has died of leukemia. He was 63.

Lysiak's daughter confirmed his death on her Twitter account.

The native of High Prairie, Alta., played 13 seasons in the NHL with the Atlanta Flames and Chicago Blackhawks, scoring 292 goals and adding 551 assists over 919 games.

Lysiak was drafted second overall by Atlanta in 1973 and was the runner-up for the rookie of the year award for the 73-74 season, scoring 19 goals and adding 45 assists to help the Flames to their first post-season appearance.

He represented Atlanta in three straight NHL all-star games (1975-77) and led the team in scoring five times.

Lysiak was serving as Flames captain when he was dealt to Chicago in an eight-player deal midway through the 1978-79 season. He led the Blackhawks in scoring in the 1980-81 season with 76 points in 72 games.

He was given a 20-game suspension, one of the longest in NHL history, for tripping linesman Ron Foyt during a 1983 game against the Hartford Whalers.

Prior to joining the Flames, Lysiak starred for the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Canadian Hockey League, recording 297 points in 144 games and winning scoring titles in 1972 and 1973. He helped the Tigers to a WCHL title and an appearance at the Memorial Cup in the 1972-73 season.

"Tom is definitely considered to be, by many people, the greatest Tiger player of all time," Tigers president Darrell Maser said in a statement.

Lysiak's daughter Jessica is married to San Jose Sharks defenceman Justin Braun.

Pretty crazy how fast things happened with kimbo.  I saw tweets earlier saying he was rushed to hospital but there were no details.  Definitely didn't expect this.

I don't want to say it but if it's heart failure it once again shows you that steroids aren't a good thing.

RIP Kimbo Slice but man.... I'm not overly surprised. Dude was a beast

Yelchin was just 27 which is sad. This is a huge blow to the Star Trek movie series. Obviously have to re-cast the role. Then again, from what I've read about the new Star Trek movie it may be the last.

Good young actor

no telling if there was going to be a 4th anyway. I'm not sure id recast. The role isn't critical. I might write Chekov out in a way to Honor the actor rather then replace him.

Very sad.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV said on Monday it would investigate a crash that killed "Star Trek" actor Anton Yelchin in his recalled 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Yelchin was killed when the SUV rolled away and pinned him against a fence in Los Angeles, police said on Sunday. Fiat Chrysler in April recalled more than 1.1 million cars and SUVs worldwide because vehicles may roll away after drivers exit, an issue linked to 41 injuries, 212 crashes and 308 reports of property damage, though it had no immediate fix for owners.

Yelchin died of accidental blunt force asphyxia, Los Angeles County Coroner Assistant Chief Ed Winter said in a phone interview Monday. The results of toxicology tests to determine if Yelchin was under the influence of any substances are not due back for at least six weeks, he added.

In a May 24 letter to dealers, Fiat Chrysler said it anticipated having the software updates required to fix the vehicles no later than July or August. The company previously had told owners it hoped to come up with a "permanent" remedy by the fourth quarter.

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said late Monday in a statement it is in contact with local authorities and Fiat Chrysler "to understand all of the facts related to this tragic crash, including whether or not this was caused by the current issue under recall."

The recall was done at NHTSA's urging, which again warned owners that "until all of these recalled vehicles are fixed, owners should take extra care to make sure their car is in park and turned completely off before exiting."

Clarence Ditlow, executive director of the Center for Auto Safety, said Monday that "while waiting for a recall remedy to be developed, the predictable happened. Anton Yelchin died. How many more people will be killed or injured waiting for a recall remedy of this fatal manufacturing flaw?"

Fiat Chrysler spokesman Eric Mayne said the company would conduct a "thorough investigation" of Yelchin's accident. "It is premature to speculate on its cause at this time," he added.

Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Jane Kim said on Monday that investigators were aware of the recall issue with the Jeep and were looking at whether that played any role in the fatality.
