IC Khari Posted January 10, 2016 Report Posted January 10, 2016 (edited) Sure it was a crazy ending to the Steelers Bengals game tonight, but when you look up dumb in the dictionary from here on in, you are going to see two players pictures (#55 Burfict, henceforth known as a Burfict Idiot, and #24 Jones) NFL I know, but the same thing could happen in the CFL. When will coaches learn? Having thugs on your team always ends badly. Edited January 10, 2016 by IC Khari

iso_55 Posted January 10, 2016 Report Posted January 10, 2016 Pac Man Jones almost signed here. What a fool.

Guest J5V Posted January 10, 2016 Report Posted January 10, 2016 Hmmm ... is Joey Porter supposed to be on the field talking trash to players? Also poorly handled by the officials methinks.
Zontar Posted January 10, 2016 Report Posted January 10, 2016 Dwight Anderson called. Will try again later.

He did sign here, We ended up not wanting him because pretty much immediately after signing, he went online and streamed himself from his hotel room talking about how he was going to play receiver, DB and return kicks and average 37 touchdowns a game. mbrg Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 Fans hucking garbage at players while they're carted off the field? Glad they found a way to lose. Goalie 1
Jpan85 Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 I guess they forgot they don't live in Cleveland
Westy Sucks Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 I wasn't surprised at all when this was happening. I wonder what Pacman said to get the flag. It didn't look like he hit anyone. It just looked like he was saying something back to Joey Porter (Pitt LB coach) Burfict on the other hand...yikes...he's getting suspended for that hit on Antonio Brown.
JuranBoldenRules Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 The NFL (and CFL) really need to add the ability to review personal fouls and unsportsmanlike penalties in-game. They handle the Shazier spear correctly and keep the Steelers coaches off the field and they avoid that embarrassing mess that reflects poorly on the entire sport.

I understand that the rule states that coaches (other than HC) cannot be on the field... but there were mitigating circumstances... how often do you see the entire team and all coaches on the field when a player suffers a serious injury... that being said, I do agree the refs should have removed Porter from that scenario... but ultimately it's on Pacman for using his mouth before his brain, like usual...
iso_55 Posted January 12, 2016 Report Posted January 12, 2016 Refs lost control of that game. Some guys should have been thrown out earlier in the game. That probably would have taken care of things early but didn't. Today, Marvin Lewis was defending both Burfict & Jones publicly. The only way he can do that is if he knows the owner or GM aren't firing him. Amazing Lewis can say the things he did & still stay head coach. Brandon 1

The Shazier hit was handled correctly; except for the part where they whistled the play dead. The ball came out and should have been a TD for the Steelers.

You can't lead with the crown of your helmet as a tackler and particularly when you are hitting high. Rule exists on both sides of the border but is not applied often enough. Really it's to protect everyone because the tackler is putting himself in danger of neck, headand spinal injuries too. ARTICLE 8. INITIATING CONTACT WITH THE CROWN OF THE HELMET. It is a foul if a runner or tackler initiates forcible contact by delivering a blow with the top/crown of his helmet against an opponent when both players are clearly outside the tackle box (an area extending from tackle to tackle and from three yards beyond the line of scrimmage to the offensive team’s end line). I don't believe he did lead with the crown of his helmet. Did he make helmet to helmet contact? Yes, but there is no way it was targeting, when Bernard was turning and lowering his head as Shazier is committing to the hit. Former head of officials and other officials agree, there was no foul on the play.

Shazier is looking at turf as he launches into the hit. It's a textbook spear. blitzmore 1

Inconsistent officiating was the real problem Saturday night. Things got way out of hand & there were no ejections. If the NFL wanted to make a statement to these teams they failed miserably.
