Ducky Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 Maurice says Buff will play. Won't say which goalie. Said he liked the intensity level and that "emotional commitment". If the Jets turn the tide and make the playoffs, will people look at that comment as the turning point? Says Ehlers' last two games are his best this year. He's liked Armia's game and when a guy is playing like that you would like to give him more time but when the line is playing well you hate to break it up. I'd play Helle.
HardCoreBlue Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 Here's hoping we can beat the odds and win the back half of a two game set. A crushing win for that matter that extends the Wild to a 5 losses in a row at home. It's these little things if they happen that makes life much more pleasurable. Go Jets Go. GCJenks and Ducky 2
Rich Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 That is a horrible starting lineup. The 4th line will never see the ice.
Goalie Posted January 16, 2016 Author Report Posted January 16, 2016 (edited) Just a matter of time until hutch is on the Moose. Yeah that PCP line is a bad thing Edited January 16, 2016 by Goalie
Goalie Posted January 16, 2016 Author Report Posted January 16, 2016 All things considered. Lowry Stafford Scheif out... played last night.... the Jets are playing really good through 2.
Ducky Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 I like what Ehlers and Armia are showing tonight. Armia on the PP was very patient with the pick and also with 2 minutes to go in the 2nd, he let a boomer go that Dubnyk stopped. Lots of get up and go for a team that played last night. I hope it holds out for the third. Buff is playing hurt. The fact that Helle is starting is pretty telling. I thought he was going to start him. Maurice has lost confidence in Hutch an dI don't blame him. Hutch to the farm or traded as soon as Pavs comes back from his conditioning stint.
Atomic Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Huge, huge win on the road with an incredibly depleted lineup in a back to back. God bless Hellebuyck! Ducky 1
Rich Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Best team effort by the Jets in a long time. Depleted line up, back to back nights, and they dig deep. Shutout for Helle.
Goalie Posted January 16, 2016 Author Report Posted January 16, 2016 Boring to watch but that's what you want on road games. Helle strong. Really liked ehlers Perreault Armia line. Trouba and buff with a good game. Really like Halischuk. All effort out there. He should have a perm spot on the 4th line. Minny is last years Chicago for the Jets.
bustamente Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Kinda reminded me of the way the Jets played on the road last year, Good effort by everybody , team win lots of hustle played with a purpose. Mr Dee 1
Mr Dee Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Wow. Got to love that effort. Strong, smart performance backed by great goaltending. Jets outhit Minne 26-18 and forced more giveaways 9-2. D-men ice times - Byfuglien 27:46, Myers 24:25 Troba 23:52 But what I loved was the possession game by the young guys. Guys like Ehlers, Armia, Burmistrov and the older young guy, Perrault. When they had the puck they played and passed and kept control. They simply wore Minnesota down. I can't think of anybody who didn't perform like Wheeler wants them to. A solid road game. blitzmore, bustamente and Mark F 3
The Unknown Poster Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 What happened to lowry and stafford
bustamente Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Staff left the Nashville game but came back hopefully nothing serious , Lowry took pregame skate and then was scratched.
Rich Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Interesting that Hellebuyck has now played more games this season (18) then both Pavs (15) and Hutch (17). 11-6-0 2 shutouts and .931 save pct.
bustamente Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Just listened to Maurices presser says both Stafford and Lowry are day to day hopeful for Monday's game
Goalie Posted January 16, 2016 Author Report Posted January 16, 2016 Kind of a fun interesting fact. Very rare to see this. Blake Wheeler has scored both game winning goals the last 2 games and he's done it in 3 minutes and 7 seconds. The Unknown Poster 1
Ducky Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 I thought it was the best game I have seen Ladd play this season. He had some jump tonight. The APE line looked good. The bottom two lines were a mishmash of D men and Moose players and 4th liners that got the job done. Pardy has 2 shots on goal as a winger!!!!! When was the last time he played a game? I'm not sure I would call this game boring. the 2nd period was a lot of fun to watch and the last 3 minutes of the game had me on the edge of my seat. After Pavs is back from the Moose, Hutch is gone. Mark F 1
The Unknown Poster Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 wheeler is the heart and soul of this team. He demanded more of his teammates and they responded. Tells you a lot about his position in the locker room. Mark F, Goalie, Atomic and 1 other 4
Ducky Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 did anyone see Buff push Helle in the face in the handshake line up???....shoulder is killing him but still joking around. GCJenks and Mark F 2
Mark F Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 (edited) The Jets have some strong solid guys.... not just Buff..... every game you see an opposition players get hit, and sent flying... what a turnaround. Very exciting game. Got to figure out a way to keep buff. Edited January 16, 2016 by Mark F Ducky 1
Ducky Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 For sure it's more than Buff. Look at the size of some of these guys. Guys like Stuart, Ladd, Lowry and even Chiarot will lay you out if given the chance and finish their checks. Ladd, especially, is one tough hombre. Even Perreault plays like he is 6' 3"... Stu and Ladd have that nastiness to them, Buff too. and who can forget this?
Goalie Posted January 16, 2016 Author Report Posted January 16, 2016 Trouba on Parise last night behind our net was the hit of the game for sure, Solid Clean hit, Parise got right up but that's what he does.
The Unknown Poster Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Helle playing another back to back after giving up four speaks volumes about his position on this team. And comig back with a solid performance speaks volumes about his psyche. He's a keeper.
Mark F Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 (edited) Quote For sure it's more than Buff. Look at the size of some of these guys. Guys like Stuart, Stuart is extremely strong, and just doesn't move when players run into him... a lot like buff, they tend to just stop dead and bounce straight back to where they came from... seems to be able to knock guys down with just a small push... must take karate or boxing or something. he definitely got away with one last night, pummeling a guy on the ground behind the jets goal....
