Race organizers discovered a hidden motor inside the bike of 19-year-old Femke Van den Driessche at the world cyclo-cross championship in Belgium, bringing fresh shame to a sport trying to move past a devastating series of doping scandals.

The find was confirmed by Bryan Cookson, the president of the International Cycling Union, or UCI, which oversees global cycling, including the Olympics and the Tour de France.
