IC Khari Posted February 17, 2016 Report Posted February 17, 2016 I wonder if they are going to digitally insert those fans this season as well? Logan007 1

bluto Posted February 17, 2016 Report Posted February 17, 2016 they forgot the soccer lines... IC Khari 1
Fan Boy Posted February 17, 2016 Report Posted February 17, 2016 Funny the messy soccer lines were forgotten. Clearly a marketing oversight. Actually I am excited that the Argos won't be jerked around like the last couple of years. Rogers is nasty. My understanding is that MLSE execs were ready to take on the Argos but Rogers just stuck their foot out to trip up the deal. The amount of money to buy and run the Argos would be like round off for MLSE. I wish I had something from Rogers so that I could give it up. A healthy Argos team is a healthy CFL. Not that I want them to win against the Blue and Gold, I will not go that far.
Jaxon Posted February 17, 2016 Report Posted February 17, 2016 Very excited to get to a game there. I need to get to the new digs in Hamilton and the renovated stadium in Ottawa as well. (I've been to the pre-renovated stadium in Ottawa, and several games at the old Ivor Wynne, but I've cut back my travel a bit so need to catch up to the newer parks.)
nate007 Posted February 17, 2016 Report Posted February 17, 2016 Aren't both teams going to share a sideline? I saw a season ticket pricing chart that seemed to indicate that...

wookie Posted February 17, 2016 Report Posted February 17, 2016 yes, as far as i know , both teams on the same side, like old stadium in ham, plus was that not the case at the sky dome as well

I get that they're good for the CFL but I just can't stand the organization, from Cahill, to O'Billovich, to Clemons, to Barker, just can't stand them. Once they drink that Argo kool-aid they turn into arrogant jerks. Even Pinball, who I once had great respect for, is more interested in listening to himself mumble useless platitudes and bafflegab than say anything of any real substance. You can listen to him for an hour and come away eyes glazed over asking yourself "what did he just say?" and not know.

Good grief! Have you ever actually tried to listen to him? He makes me want to gouge my ears out! You can see people fall under the spell as their eyes glaze over and their minds start to wander. I dunno ... LOL!
Goalie Posted February 17, 2016 Report Posted February 17, 2016 LOL. I actually agree about listening to Pinball talk... He really does make you want to gouge your ears out but... with that being said, he seems like he's a genuine down to earth nice person. Agreed he's annoying as hell but... he's obviously a very nice person so can't really hate him that much.
IC Khari Posted February 17, 2016 Author Report Posted February 17, 2016 Pinball's OK ... Obie, Cahill, and Barker are nothing to write home about ...

Agreed, Pinball is supposed to be an inspirational speaker but if I was forced to sit through one of his lectures I would be inspired to head for the exit. He's selling something but I ain't buying it.

Is there a CFL field that doesn't have soccer markings now? I think every CFL stadium has either a pro team or CIS team playing soccer in it.

Cahill was a real CFL character. Called Leo The Lip by the media because he always spoke what was on his mind. He did a lot to promote the Argos from 1968-72 in his first run with the team like signing high profile NCAA college players like Joe Theismann, Jim Corrigal, Leon McQuay, Jim Stillwagon & Tim Anderson back in the day. Guest J5V Posted February 17, 2016 Report Posted February 17, 2016 LOL! Of course you guys are right, Pinball's a very nice man, I just can't stand to listen to him for very long. If he'd just say "****" once in a while he'd be so much more human and a lot more tolerable. LOL!
iso_55 Posted February 17, 2016 Report Posted February 17, 2016 (edited) Pinball's a positive guy. He once flew to Calgary for the funeral of my son's friend almost ten years ago. He had met the boy a couple of years earlier but I don't remember the circumstances as to why. Unfortunately, the teen committed suicide. My son met him at the funeral. Pinabll didn't have to come & it wasn't expected but he did. Clemons even got up & said a few words. That's just the kind of guy he is. So really, why diss Pinball who is one of the nicest guys around? Edited February 17, 2016 by iso_55 TrueBlue, Stickem, Westy Sucks and 1 other 4

Who can forget Leon McQuay's fumble on that icy day to lose a Grey Cup. Pure heartbreak for Leo Cahill. I don't think he was ever the same.
iso_55 Posted February 17, 2016 Report Posted February 17, 2016 "When McQuay slipped, I fell". Leo Cahill, 1972.
Goalie Posted February 18, 2016 Report Posted February 18, 2016 I like Pinball but the way he talks just annoys me. It is what it is. Maybe it's the fact that it appears he has about 100000 teeth when he's talking, i don't know but it just annoys me. He's a nice guy tho and i like him i just find when he talks, he annoys me. LOL

He's a very nice guy, but I could like him better if he had played for someone other than the Argos.
iso_55 Posted February 18, 2016 Report Posted February 18, 2016 Yeah, I feel the same way about the Riders but I think as fans sometimes we forget that the players are people just like us. Some guys are jerks but the majority of them are genuinely nice guys. Some, like Pinball are special who open their hearts for others.
